Is it true that you could cut your electric bill in half if you use a Thick Wire

someone just gave us advice two days ago that that is what they did. for the wirings in their house, they had thin wires, and they had it changed to thick wires, and now they're saving half the amount of electricity bills they used to pay. also this guy knew the owner of a department store in our city, who did the same exact thing, and they also cut their bills almost half! is this a fact or a fallacy? because i think we have thin electrical wires all over our house, as this is very old house. if it is true, why?

yes you are given a good suggestion, recently in my 10th grade i studied about electricity and its effects. In that chapter i have studied that resistance of a wire is inversely proportional to the thickness that is when you increase the thickness then electricity flows easily and without a heat loss...so the idea of using this wires is very good and economical

yes! that's what i heard. thanks for adding me by the way. your my first friend here lol. anyway, a follow up question i have about this is, i know that thicker wires are more expensive, we pay 8,000 philippine peso per month for our electricity! its insane huge! but if we do indeed change the wires? do you think it would be worth it? i mean, would there really be a significant change in our consumption of electricity? today the exchange rate for dollar to peso is 48php per 1usd. :/ sorry for bothering you with even more questions. lol. i just dont know anyone who knows about wires. thank you so much for replying by the way :) really appreciate it
