Miss USA 2009 was apparently crowned. WHen I was younger I watched the Miss America show. But I haven't watched in years. I just came across an article. I didn't even know it was going to be on. Does anyone really make a point to watch these contests anymore?

I've never been a big fan of the Miss USA show. Really, that sounds kind of odd. You might have expected me to be interested in the swimsuit portion, but all the fanfare of it really never peaked my curiosity. I know people work hard to making the pageant about more than being a bubble-head with a wave, a smile, and a plea for world peace. I'm not saying that the Miss USA thingamabob is bullock or something. I'm sure there are people that follow it and believe it is a very serious thing. It just seems to sound like an earlier era's version of "American Idol" to me.

Nope sure don't. I did maybe when I was in highschool as we liked to watch for the fashion aspect and see what the contestant from our state looked like in comparison.
I think most of us have bigger things to worry about and with paid tv having so many things on similar like the toddlers in tiara series or whatever it's called... they don't have to mark the Miss America Pagent on their calendars anymore.
