I wish that I could claim full intellectual rights to this discussion but I was inspired by a discussion that a wonderful contributed to MyLot named Flowerchilde. Liberals and Conservatives have always been pitted against themselves, yet they are the same. Both support big government as long as big government supports their agenda. Liberals are always saying that government has no right to tell a woman what she can do with her own body when it come to the issue of abortion but liberals have no problem tell everyone else what they can and cannot do. Conservatives do not want capitalism and guns touched but do not have any problem with touching social issues that they disagree with. Both sides must have a big all powerful government to enforce their image on America. The only two sides that totally differ is libertarians verses statist. Libertarians would say the lest government is the best government, where statist believe the most government is the best government. Instead of arguing whether or not a politician is a liberal or a conservative, the argument should be is the politician for small government or for big government.

Even though Liberals and Conservatives, i.e. Democrats and Republicans as far as big government is concerned, they both come from a different paragon. One, the Democrats is more liberal and seems to test the envelope, i.e. most of the abortion rights and same gender marriages were pushed by the Democrats, and the Republicans seem more traditional and of a stricter moral code that is the true Republicans. I have no idea what the Libertines are like. It would be a shame to get a smaller government and states have their own control if morals go down the tube.

I would start call the Libertarians Libertines if I was you iirc Libertine means somebody who's extremely decadent and/or immoral (or an ex-member of a band )

Well, I am a conservative and not a libertarian and I do not want big government. The less government the better. In fact, every conservative that I personally know feels the same way. Now I do not know every conservative in the USA, but the ones I do know and the ones that I have heard speak are speaking my language now. Maybe in the past they wanted more government but maybe they have learned a thing or two. What is going on now is insane. It is communism short and to the point. Bureaucracy breeds Bureaucracy. If it is not nipped in the bud it will be ever expanding just like our universe until someday it implodes and we are gonners. Shalom~Adoniah
