The best ways to relax

What was the most relaxing thing you did last week? For me it was an afternoon by the beach. My daughter and granddaughter were staying with me for a few days, and my daughter drove us there and back; it takes about an hour. She and I met a friend and sat on the terrace of the Sandbanks Hotel in the sunshine, sipping white wine and chatting, while my granddaughter played in the sand a few feet away. It was bliss.

Hi jakill, That sounds like heaven, well last Saturday my two friends and i went out for a drink, it was lovely just sitting there chatting and not getting up to do things like when you are in the house, it was nice. Tamara

That sounds great too, Tamara. I can always relax when I'm with good friends.

Sounds wonderful, I wish I had been there. The most relaxing thing for me is yoga. I do deep breathing with this and it releases all my stress.

I've heard that yoga is good in all sort of ways. I just wonder if I'm too old to start now.

The thing about yoga is you are never to old, we had a woman in her 80s come to class and she had to start in a chair but now is standing and down on the floor with the rest of us. We all admired her so much because even though she had to start in a chair and so stood out in the class she stuck with it and has gained so much.

Wow! that would be bliss, I agree. I slept and my deep sleep relaxed me.Blogging and writing also relaxes me and releases me from the stress and pressure at work. But I would welcome a quite time in the beach too or atop a mountain. I always loved the mountains. The stillness and peace it brings to the soul is immeasurable. Have a grand time Jean.

No mountains for well over a hundred miles from here. Perhaps the wild moorlands or the new Forest could substitute. I'd certainly find all those places relaxing because you have to away from the stresses of your everyday life. Thank you Jena.

For me the best way to relax is to walk or to jog in the park. I jog or walk in a park especially in the evening it makes me very relax. There are also other ways to relax like taking vacation and go out for hiking or doing some adventure in the mountains.

Yes. These are all good ways to relax and destress. For me, it will probably only work if I'm in good company, otherwise my mind is likely to be on something work related.
