I know a lot of people consider their pets their children - I do myself, but I have never gone to the extreme to actually go off and start buying clothes for my dog. Do you dress your dog? Why?

No i don't dress my dog. But i do know some one that does and i was wondering myself why she does it. OK yeah it helps keep her dog warm in the winter cause its a small dog. But out side of winter i really don't have the understanding in it. I asked her one day why do you dress the poor dog in cloths? She tells me cause she looks so cute like that.

To me - a dog is going to be fine in the winter. There is a reason most dogs put on a little bit more weight during the winter or they built up their coat. Its a protective measure, so they might be a little cold but I don't think being outside for a few minutes is going to harm them or worth paying some of the prices dog clothes can go for. And the dog may look cute but I know the dogs can't be comfortable. It seems to confine them more than anything.

Dressed For Success - Roxy modeling her latest custom made outfit.
I do dress my dog. For the most part, since she is small, she must wear a harness to take her for a walk, rather than a collar. I have bought one harness for my dog and I hand make the rest. I custom make them for comfort for my dog. As for other cloths, I have bought cloths for my dog. She loves her sweat shirt most but I also make cloths for her and she likes her leather cape the best. The reason I am into buying certain cloths for my dog and making others is that my dog is training to be a model canine. This entails several changes per shoot/assignment. Another reason why I dress my dog is that since she is Yorkie X, she has no under coat and hair like us, not fur. If I am cold, she is cold, if I am hot, she is hot. She must have a sweater to wear when the weather is cooler out. She has to go outside because she is house trained. In the cold cold winter months she has a snow suit but I didn't make that one. The picture below is a harness I made her with a detachable skirt. It is made from denim and cotton lace with satin lining.

We don't dress our dog. We kinda find it funny to see dogs dressed - I think it's because there's less of their fur exposed and we really like rubbing their backs and such. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Yes, I buy special towel for my dog. I think he need this towel in winter and it is also helpful in brushing his skin as well.
