I have recently (3 yrs ago) been released after an 8 yr sentance in prison. I was convicted of sexually assaulting a minor (she was 12) I am afraid to tell my pastor this because everyone ive ever spoken to shuns me and insists i am going to hell. i feel bad and have changed but i cant get support because everyone thinks im sick.

No one is perfect in the eye of God and your Pastor will know that. And i am sure that he can help you to release in that nightmare of your past by prayer. I know you are still on struggle because of that. Dont mind what others says, as long you surrender all to God and ask for forgiveness thats it. No one has accountable in your life, only yourself. Just do what you think is good !!!

Forgiveness is something between you and God. It's an honest confession to God and you can be rest assured that God has forgiven you. Forgiveness of sins does not involve any human other than you. Once God has forgiven you He forgets you ever did something wrong. It's as simple as that. you will not go to hell once God has forgiven you. You need not confess to anyone else and hope for their forgiveness. God will lead you to share your life as a testimony at the right time and place and people will appreciate the change in your life. A truely understanding pastor will help you get over this feeling of guilt and start a new life. So will a true friend who you trust! Pray ... and God will lead the right people into your life who will help you out of this situation! I appreciate your honesty and your desire to get back to an honest life. Do not let guilt or your past hold you down!

Well, everyone makes mistakes in their lifes. I have made mistakes not as big as yours but everyone does. The bible says for all have sinned and if you believe in Jesus Christ as your personal savior your sins will be forgiven no matter how big they are. As for other people shuning you they shouldn't. The bible does talk about judging others and that you shouldn;t do that. If they are true christians they won't judge you.

A good pastor will not judge you because of the sins of your past. If you feel a need to tell your pastor about it, then find a time to talk to him privately about it. If he does judge you, as you think he will, then that may not be the best church for you to go to. Even your pastor's a sinner, and he knows it. Give him a chance.

Hello Mtorro, welcome to my lot. I dont think it is necessary for you to tell your pastor unless he absolutely asks you about it. You should realise that since you committed a very serious crime people are bound to resent you and shun you. But praise God that he will always love you no matter what you have done. He will always welcome you with open arms. The bible says that ALL have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God, but God is faithful and just and that he will forgive our sins, cast them under the sea, and he will remember them no more. I suggest that right now you spend time in prayer and reading your bible and let God change you. Don't worry about what other people say or think of you.. what matters is what God thinks of you. We here at my lot are here for you if you need a chat or support... happy my lotting!
