"I'm gonna kill you!"

I'm was taking my son and his friends swimming tonight when a truck comming to my left didn't stop for the stop sign and i almost hit him....I was so mad,the guy got out of his truck to make sure i didn't damage anything on his truck,but when his was comming toward me he said"i'm gonna kill you if you scratched my new truck!!"WHAT!I said, i couln't belive this idiot,my son in the back can ear everything so i tried to be polite ...HA!HA!HA!...the best that i could and left.My son ask me after if the guy was really going to "KILL ME",no i said and explain to him that some peoples don't think before they speak.I think i would of prefere the "F" word,it's easier to explain.How would you deal with that situation?

I would try not to say anything. Those people are crazy and they are capable of anything.
As for answering your son, I think that it is a time as good as any to try to explain that some people are nuts and BEWARE!!!

Well,my son know that some peoples are a little crazy i just wish i could explain better on why that is!!

I think you handled it well, being the one who was more calm. I would have done the same, being the one with the cooler head so that if people saw us, they'd be supporting me and not the hot-headed one, haha!
Many people say things that they don't mean. In this case, it was just to scare you. They just bark, but they don't bite.
