hello friends..... Im a new user on mylot, and i was over whelmed to see so many people here and such constructive responses... coming back to my question....when i say change i mean there are so many changes which have taken place in the last few years in the catholic church, like distributing the holy communion in hand, the lay people distributing the holy communion, etc. what i fail to see is that, there is no change in the way people worship(hymns, etc).i visited one of the catholic charismatic renewal prayer meetings & trust me it was amazing, if you see these days the youth turnover in churches is falling drastically. What might be the reason behind this ???? Do you think the catholic church should incorporate the charismatic way of worship into the holy mass ???? Please give your views, if you need any clarification please get back to me ill be glad to answer them all...

In one resounding word--NO! This is the very last thing the Catholic Church needs. It's bad enough we have female alter servers, lay lectors, lay Eucharistic ministers, and such. Why in the world would we want to adopt a definite Protestant way of worship? Think about this. When people "pray in tongues," how do they know that what's happening is truly from God and not from Satan? It's very, very possible that they're giving voice to the demonic. Does the Church really want to let that threat in? For the record, I'm female, so don't jump all over me for criticizing female alter servers, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, etc. I'm just letting in the possibility that the Charismatic movement might not be from God.

I am glad to see your response coolcoder......but if you read the description carefully, I have mentioned about the CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC RENEWAL which is approved by the Catholic Church and has no protestant angle to it.....protestants usually don't believe in Mother Mary but we as Catholics do and during these charismatic meetings as well we say the rosary, intercede for people, etc. what I fail to understand is that, there are so many religions sisters present in the church then what is the need for lay people...it really hurts me to see that a religious sisters work these days is only restricted to running schools and decorating the alter......I personally never take communion from laypeople i don't say it is wrong but it is just my personal opinion, i always insist on taking it fro a religious sister or a priest.....
