how do i get sp3 without a direct download?

I recently did a reformatting of my hard drive and re-istalled SP2 of windows XP. The problem now is I can't seem to get my windows updated , it starts but hardly gets anything done. am loosing sleep and precious time please help if you can or give useful suggestions please!

I can't get your point clearly. Why you want to get windows updated? have you got a virus? If you want to get sp3 try to look out for some computer magazines that are out in the market and maybe one of their accompanying CD or DVD may have an SP3 update. Or else you will have to get somewhere where a fast net connection is available so you download it.
If your windows is hanging a lot then probably you may have got a serious virus.
