I am a graduate of two courses. Last 2003, I finished my bachelors degree of Political Science in University of the Philippines - Cebu. After I graduated, I immediately took up Bachelor of Laws and graduated from said degree last March 2007. I finished two courses chosen by my parent. It is my mother who wanted me to get the courses available at University of the Philippines - Cebu. Before I had my UP college admission test result, I choose an engineering course. I took the exam in one of the schools I want to enroll. I was almost done with the enrollment process when the letter from UP stating that I passed the admission test reached to my mother's hand. As much as possible, she wants me to graduate from University of the Philippines than to any other schools. She said it is a great opportunity. I followed her advise because I don't like to offend her and for the fact that she is the one who send me to school. Right after graduation, I promised to myself I will not go to school again. However, my mother insisted that I should try law school since my course is a preparatory to law course. I followed her choice again. I was obedient to my mother. Now, I am suffering the consequences. I don't like to work at law firms and I am not convinced I would be a good lawyer. In my point of view, it is best to have your own choice of course to take in college with the blessings from your parents. What do you think?
