Do you think Indians should support Tamils in Srilanka?

Tamilnadu Cheif Minister Karunanidhi is trying all ways to protect LTTE and Tamils in Srinlanka. He represents Tamil community in India so he wants to save Tamils in Srilanka. Does India need to do so?
LTTE is known worldwide as a terrorist organization and they behave like that. Last year they blew two airplanes to Columbo which led to the death of lots of people. LTTE murdered our formerPrime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
I don't think Indian government has to take steps to protect Tamils in Srilanka...especially should not take any steps to protect LTTE because it is no more helping Tamils but doing terrorist activities. It is Srinlanka's personal problem so we should leave them and pray for the best.
What do you say about this issue?

LTTE is a terrorist Organisation agreed. But not tamils there. They definitely have to be protected. You people may not feel the real issue over there. Only a Tamil person like me and other south Indians could feel how dear those SriLankan Tamizhs are for us. If it is the internal matter of SriLanks, then why should Rajiv Gandhi send a peace keeping force to SRILANKA to fight against the LTTE army? Why did he not leave it as an Internal Issue of Srilanka? Why did Rajiv Gandhi refused to withdraw the Indian Peace Keeping force even after SriLankan government termed it as un-necessary? Its these silly act of Rajiv Gandhi that costed him his own life. To everyone's kind notice I am not a supporter of the Militant Outfit LTTE and Karunanidhi's call for Bandh is just an Election gimmicks for Vote Bank. My final conclusion is Yes, the INDIANSA should Support Tamils in SriLanka. - Jai Hind.

I am sorry dear. I can understand your love for Tamil people in Srilanka. I also live with Tamil people in Chennai even though I am not a Tamilian. Yes, India should support them. But, I strongly believe that Bandh or protest or sucicide in Tamil Nadu in India won't make any change in the situation of Tamils in Srinlanka. I wonder what we can do to change the situation of Srilanka.
Karunanidhi is very clever and wicked. He knows that LTTE has requested for ceasefire and some action will happen from the Srilankan government. At the same time he went on fasting (for 6 hours) and decleard that Srilankan government decided not to use heavy weapons because of his fasting. This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. How can he say that unless the Srilankan government says 'we stopped using heavy weapons because of Karunanidhi's fasting'.
Also DMK spokesman says 'When Jayalalitha fasted, nothing happened, when Karunanidhi fasted, Srilanka stopped using heavy weapons for some time'. I don't understand what do these politicians think. Do they think that all the Tamilians (vote banks in their language) are stupids?

Ha ha. Exactly daliaj, You have nailed the point. These meagre Bandh and other stuffs can do nothing to protect the Tamils in SriLanka. It is only through strong steps anything could be done. Self Immolition, Bandh, Strike and other stuffs are a total waste and just an eye wash politics infron of public to show that they really sympathise for the innocent srilankan tamils. Karunandihi is one cunning politician who for his benefits can goto any extent. The whole TamilNadu knew the drama is just for vote and that too he went in fast for 6 hours and then eneded it after confirmation from Chidambharam. This is one of the biggest ever jokes I could have ever heard of. This time the people in TamilNadu will take a sensible decision. They wont make it happen the 40-0 factor as it happened during the previous election in 2004.

when u say india,its not always the people.the power lies with a bunch of politicians whose only aim to make as much money as possible and make sure u do something to gain votes in the next election.if karunanidhi is asking the center to halt war,he should have done it before the indian government supplied arms and training to the sri lankan army.do u seriously believe that karunanidhi cares about the tamil people in sri lanka ?nope.he knows that if he dont do anything to oppose this genocide,he will lose the election.the lives of tamil in sri lanka is nothing more than a election playing card
and i got a doubt.if we want to support the tamils even at the risk of letting go of LTTE,what if the people of pakistan and afghanistan start protesting against killing militants and other terrorists as they r also a community

Well Indians should support Tamils. The LTTE are not bad, they are asking for the rights and against the exploitation of tamilians.
