my cat went crazy the night after my black cat died.. he started howling (he is siamese so he doesnt meow right anyways) and running around and tried tearing up stuff etc.. i know the last black cat he outlived he started mimicking her weird meow and doing things (like giving kisses) like she did for months after she died..
my dog is sad but she is on pain meds since she just had surgery so i dont think its really hit her yet..
i dont know what is worse.. being sad already yourself or seeing your other pets howling and having fits of grief
im used to them maybe looking around and being depressed but not this!
how have your pets reacted when one of them is suddenly gone??

I had two dogs, one was very young when the other had to be put down. They had been pretty good friends since we had them both together, about a year or so. The puppy was very sad and quiet when the older one wasn't there anymore. She was a very spunky dog and losing her friend took that away for a little while. After about a month or so she started to perk up and was back to her old self soon after that. They really do miss each other when one is suddenly not there. It was sad to see her so sad.
