'mother' is the origin of all humans, she gvies birth, feeds children and plays major role in bringing up the children, most of the words to talk and foots to step are all taught by mother, so its the language taught by mother...so commonly the name which is more close comes from the tongue....and see now universally accepted....

It's called the "Mother Tongue" because it's the first to introduce you to the world, and since the mother is usually the main caregiver, she is the one who teaches you the language you learn so whatever her language is, becomes your mother tongue, because it's the language of your mother, the first language you learned.

Mother is the person who give birth to baby and show him / her the earth. Then she feed you, take care of you, bought you up. I think our mother is the most important person in our life. Except our mother's care we would be no where. The first thing you speak is mom not dad. That's why it is called mother tongue not father tongue.
