question about new orleans

i have been there several times and planning another trip but this time some one in our group will be 19 and not of legal drinking age.. since i have always been with people of legal drinking age i never had to even think about it BUT can some one under age still ENTER the same places? i mean OBVIOUSLY he cannot and will not drink but i want to know if he can at least go into the same places otherwise i have to figure out some one to go with him some where while the other part of the group goes into the bars and etc.. any clue?

Okay here is the odd thing...I always heard you had to be over 21 to get into a bar, but if that was true...how did my father get away with taking me and my bro into them all the time??? I think some places actually let under 21 people in but have to have a stamp on there hands saying that they are underage and what not. I think it really depends on the place.
