Choosing Names - Don't Trust it to a Child!

You'll know by now that I'm the proud Mummy to four monsters ... I mean puppies. They're terribly sweet, but we really did struggle with names.
Eventually we managed to agree on names for three of them, but I had the clever idea of allowing my eldest son to choose a name for the fourth. I should have known better! Someone warned me that he'd name this cute little puppy Axe or something, but I brushed them off.
Needless to say, I should have known better! I now have puppies named Blue, James, Teef (it means 'female dog'* in Dutch), and .. wait for it ... KILLER!
Bet you can't guess which one my son named!
Killer is such a calm, relaxed dog compared to the others. I can't imagine a name less suited to him!
Have you ever ended up with a pet with a daft or unsuitable name? What's the funniest name for a dog or cat that you've heard?
* Why on earth won't myLot allow me the proper name of a female dog in correct context?!

Of course the proper name for a female dog is a swear word that's way over used, at least around here.
When my youngest was due to be born, my daughter asked me what we planned to name him. I told her his name would be Mathieu (pronounced Mathew, only spelled different). She says to me "That doesn't make any sense. You should name him something like Surf Boy or something"

No, he's a Mathieu after all.. but I still get a kick out of what she said.

think about it, the term for a female dog is also used as a really crude insult...
no, I've never had a badly named pet
Tho, Natasha was a kitten tornado, her brother, Boris, was a sweet laid back kitten. (see Rocky & Bullwinkle for the reference)

well, mom came with the name Rock Star, we called her Rocky so the kittens were named Natasha and Boris the couple who were villians in the cartoons. After the kittens were gone, and everyone kept calling mom a "he" because she's orange, we changed it again to Roxy

Love it! The name is particularly good if the pup looks angelic and sweet! It IS funny about what myLot will allow ... I tried to put 'p u s s y' the other day, in a perfectly innocent discussion about cats - and it went 'tut tut!' Go figure!
