Iron-on Patches help please

My oldest is a Daisy Girl Scout and when she got her tunic I either sewn what I could on and then used fabric glue for what I could not sew. Well The glue falls off if washed. So I want to know can I try to iron those that I glued on even though I used glue first? Would that make a difference or mess up her patch & tunic? WWYD?
