My dog pulls when I take him for walks. I've used a joke chaind with him but he just chokes himself. I've also used the harness so he doesn't joke himself but he still pulls. I'm not looking into those dog halters that go around the dog's muzzle so when he pulls it pulls his head down. I'm wondering, has anyone has used these? If so did that help?

Those kind of halters work great for hard to walk dogs. That is what they are made for. It trains the dog not to pull on the leash because if they try, they will not like the result. These halters give you complete control over the dog. These are great for dogs who try to chase while on a leash, who are too curious of other people and animals, and who try to pull constantly. It is the same concept as a harness on a horse...just you aren't sitting on your dog! :o) It is meant for having control. Plus, it is actually more comfortable and better for your dog than a collar. Collars will choke the dog, hurt the dog, and collars are easy for dogs to slip out of. However, even when using a harness or halter, it is a good idea to keep a collar on your dog that has their rabies tags and an ID tag attached. You can never be too safe!

Our german shepherds can be pullers, making it hard for me to walk them. We have pronged collars, and harnesses . What I rather use on ours is just the nylon rope leash like you get from a Vet . It loops around the dogs neck, working as a collar and leash. If placed high up , just behind the dogs ears they work very well in controlling the dog . Good luck to you!

Hi: I have two dogs and when I walk them, I put a harness on them that goes over their heads, and under there front legs and then I just snap it shut. To open it, I just push on the button and it opens to take it off. They pull some with it, but not to much as I have been watching the dog whisperer and I keep the leash close to me and hold it close to the harness, that way they walk beside me and not out in front of me, as I am the pack leader, not them. The worst problem I have is they want o get away from me when they see other dogs, but I am trying to work on that behavior, as it is very unwanted behavror. When they do things on the walk that they shouldn't, I pull up on the leash, and believe me, it scares them, as they don't expect it, but it does seem to help a little bit. I think I need Cesar Millan to help me lol. Have a great weekend and have fun with your dog.

my dog used to do that alot to was alwasy pulling when we would go for a walk.i got a collar for her that had spikes on it so when she would pull on it it would hurt her a little.it seems really mean but after a week of figureing out it hurt when she pulled she always walks beside me.now i can take her off her leash and seh will alwasy stay right beside me or the children.although ive never tried the muzzle i would assume that it would work it would probubly take a week or so before the dog got used to it but im sure it will.
