When not in the mood to mylot - do you force yourself to participate?

Hi everyone! Sometimes when I mylot I find it hard to make a post. It seems my brain isn’t working fine. My body likes to mylot but my mind can’t think well enough. Just like right now. I am having a hard time responding to discussions. It took me I think an hour on one discussion before I could think of something to comment. I go like type and then erase type and then erase. Just doing some typing and erasing. I am not normally like this but today I am. I guess I’m tired having been out this morning. I haven’t participated in mylot since yesterday cause I have been gone the whole day too. But since I have obligated myself to work on mylot I have to make my brain work. I have to be in the mood to mylot today and always, that’s what I always say to myself. I guess I am making mylot my job now. For now, I think I’m gonna take a break and eat snack. I would like to have some chips to get me going. Eating chips helps me sometimes to think. To me it’s like a boredom shock absorber. It gets my boredom or tiredness goes away. It gets me relaxed and helps to set me in the mood. I’ve done it before and helped me perform well here in mylot. What about you guys? Have you experienced the same? Any habit you do to get yourself be in the mood to work on mylot? Is mylot becoming a job to you?

MyLot is a hobby for me...just like quilting, cross stitch and my online game. I come here b/c I want to not b/c I have to. I do tend to get wore out quickly so I do this: I open up say 10 discussions and respond to them, then I go do a house chore, take a shower, have a snack, something. Then I come back and do 10 more discussions and go do something else. Like right now, when I finish these 10, I'll go take my shower and get dressed. Then I'll go do 10 more and then go do dishes. 10 more and make Hubby and I breakfast. 10 more and...well, you get the picture. It breaks up the routine and lets my brain rest for a bit...and I make sure to get things done around the house. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

I keep it open till I don't feel like doing it anymore then I close it down and go do something else. I don't force myself to do it b/c then I'd get to where I don't want to do it at all. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

Hey I like the way how you mylot! I think its more fun and not boring. But does that mean that you're logged in on mylot the whole day? If you'll ask me, I try to finish all my house chores first before mylotting. I don't like to be interrupted in the middle of my mylotting time. But still, there are times that I can't just mylot. I have pets that I need to feed and take care of. Ciao!

I only join in Mylot discussions when I feel like it. And that is not everyday. I honestly can't put myself in the shoes of those who really make it a point to log in here everyday and spend hours at a time just so at the end of the day, they can say "I made 50 (or 100 or more) posts!" With the rate Mylot is paying us to post comments, I don't feel it warrants much of my time to force myself to post on any topic just for the sake of posting. I come here when I want to learn, or unwind or contribute to intelligent conversations. When I open the discussions page and I can't see a topic I'd like to share my views with, I log out of Mylot and go on to my other online activities instead. Again, I can't understand why some people feel the need to force themselves to join discussions when they are not even in the mood. Just my two cents.

I guess it's the reasons of joining mylot why others try their best to participate. Others really want to earn so they give much effort posting. Others thought that its the quantity that makes us earn here when it is the quality of our posts that counts. I don't really force myself to the point of just making a post. I know I won't earn from that kind of attitude. There are even days that I don't start a discussion. As much as possible I still try to think of the quality of my post and responses. Happy posting!

Hi writermom8, I can't say that I'm going to be one of those people that say I made 50 posts today, but I am a competitive person so I will be challenging myself to beat the payout timing. I'm not counting this time because I've been a member for 10 months but hardly put any effort into it until recently. So once I FINALLY reach payout here, I'll make note of the day I start with a $0.00 balance and if it takes me 8 weeks to reach $10 pay out, the next time I will challenge myself to get $10 in 7 weeks... I'm very competitive against myself... not so much against other people but definately against myself. So, I will be one of those people saying I cashed out in XXX amount of time! Not necessarily saying that I posted XXX amount of times today... Fran429

There are really times that we felt not in the mood to do mylot. I know because i do felt that sometimes when i just stared and keep browsing on many discussion but just couldn't put a word to say. Sometimes i just choose to log out and do other online work or warm up myself so to get back on mood or to gain some mood. However there are also times even if i am not in the mood i forced myself to participate even just for few discussion and that's when i am nearly on minimum and its nearly end of the month..hehehe just to catch up to reach the minimum at least. Well i admit that mylot really give me an extra money besides from all the knowledge i have learned, so i still work hard to earned here. I just hope i can earn more and be more motivated. happy mylotting!

Yes the earnings do gets me motivated too! That's why I always make up for the days I wasn't able to post much. I guess to everyone here the earnings is the reason why everyone tries their best here in mylot. Ciao!

Usually no. I'll do stuff on MyLot for as long as I feel like it. But when I start feeling tired and "burned out" or whatever, I'll take a break. I want MyLot to remain fun and not something I feel like it's something I have to do. To get myself in the mood when I get tired or whatever, I'll just take a break maybe go play a game or two and just surf the internet for a little while. That seems to help me out some.

When not in the mood to mylot- do you force yourself to participate? This is a good post. The first thing that I do when I'm not feeling like mylotting is that I will check out my emails and respond to family and friends first. Afterwords i usually feel more like mylotting. I never really have to force myself to mylot b/c most of the discussions seem to be pretty interesting. Esp. when people are talking about an interesting subject. Wow, one just now came to mind so I must get ready to post it......... Anyways yes, mylot is becoming more like a job but it's a very enjoyable one. I know that I don't have to do it not unless I want to. So I try to set a few goals daily. I figured out if we stay here at mylot and keep posting about five or six hours. It usually comes out to about 1.00 us dollar. So at month's end, it should be at least 30.00 dollars which isn't too bad for something that ur just doing as a pasttime.....What do you think? As for eating chips, I do like to eat them sometimes but not too often. If you eat about ten chips, that's about a hundred calories right there. Can you just imagine how quickly you'd pack on the pounds if you ate a whole big bag of chips?....I find that drinking protein shakes are better for me. They help me to build muscle and they seem to give me the energy that I need to maintain here at mylot..... It also remind me of a milkshake but without all the calories..... Maybe you should try to switch up to drinking them...... Please add me as a friend if you don't mind. Thanks and happy mylotting...... E.

Hi! I agree with you that mylot is a fun job to do. But we really have to set goals and be responsible cause we're not obligated to do this. We're the boss of ourselves here and no one will help us to earn except ourselves. $1 a day earning? That's a good earning but I don't set a goal on how much I would like to earn everyday. My goal is to just participate and make quality posts. I feel the same way too about my mylotting. I just keep in mind that this has to be fun too and not just because I want to earn. Keep posting!

Hi there! I am also considering mylot as my job. A part-time job since I'm not yet going back to work. And like you, if I'm not fully in the mood to mylot when I log in, after a while of responding to discussions, surprisingly my mood does comes back again.

just like you, sometimes it took me a lot of time to comment in a discussion. it seems that my mind is not yet focus here. well, i just don't force myself to do so because i also can't think well whenever i'm not in the mood to post. i just visit other site's or do some research about job employment or just a have a break so that whenever i return to mylot again, then i can give comment to every discussions that i'm interested to respond

Yes, there are times that I am not really in the mood in replying to some of discussions. I just browse some of the new discussions that I wanted to read and response to, but most of the time..when I am not in the mood I just log out and comes back an hour when I read some new and interesting topics on some of the interest. It just sad when I wasn't able to post in a day and found out I have 0.00 earning,

Well, if your mind is tired to type, I suggest you rest for a while even if your body is itching to do mylotting. There are times when we experience a sort of "block" when writing, so just take it easy. As for me, if I can't post on a certain topic, I just go through my interests once again and see if there are posts that would be "easier" to reply to. Sometimes I read posts with no responses yet and see if I could give my two-cents worth in any of the topics presented. I just browse and browse then reply if a topic, even if it's located on page 4, seems interesting to me.

Yeah I do that too sometimes. I keep on browsing for topics that I have lots to share. And it does takes some time to find a good discussion especially if few new topics are coming in. If that is the case, I would concentrate for a while on my traffic exchange site and other online earnings. Keep posting!

I usually start my day with a few sites and then I check my email and see who asking those important questions, like you. I don't force myself to mylot, sometimes I don't feel like answering questions but I do it anyway, since we are all trying to help each other I think about the other person and then I just start typing.

Hey friend nice to see you again! It's nice of you to think of other users too. Yeah, if we give it try to share our views to others posts it will be a lot of help for them. Besides, it will also benefit us for participating. But I hope you responded to this post because you got interested and not because we're friends. Ciao!

Yes fellow lotter, it does takes time choosing for interesting topics to answer. It becomes even more boring just surfing and reading. And like you I hope I am always in the mood to mylot. But in reality I think we can't always be in the mood. Boring times do comes once in a while. Happy posting!

Hi Dear, Good question for discussion, Well to start with, I personally, don't participate if I don't have anything to add value to the discussion. This may be also because I am still new to this site, didn't really got the chance to explore it fully for other intrested topics. But I feel that there are lots of dicussions in which you can participate, but you may need to devote your time in finding them. As it seems that you are member of this community from quiet a long time, you would be better judge or advisor to new commers like me, to tell us about the way to explore this site. But really I am enjoying my time here and want to contribute to this site as much as I can.

mylot is an escape to me. i write articles for other sites and when i am just passing the time or feel like chatting i go to mylot. it is fun to respond to some discussions. i genuinely like people and i like to hear people's opinions on stuff. here there are people from all over the world and that is really cool. i can't always start discussions because i sometimes get blank and don't know what to say. it is easier to respond.

Hi Nuttymomma! I also find it easier to respond than start my own post. It's fun sharing my views to other members here. I guess responding is also where my earnings comes from cause I respond more than make my own post. Keep posting!

I feel you on this. I actually took 3 weeks off from myLot because I had things to take care of and couldn't focus on responding or posting discussions. When I first started I could throw up topics left and right but then it's like I hit a writer's block and just didn't know what to say on here. I've posted maybe 2 discussions so far today and the rest has just been responses to others posts. Just because I don't really know what to write about. When I originally started on mylot it was a source of income and then I saw how little you make off of what you do and that too probably sparked my lack of motivation. It's been awhile since I joined and though I have taken a lot of time off I have yet to reach my first payout. It's sometimes a little discouraging for me too... I just try to tell myself I need to make some money so lets go discuss for a little bit in hopes I make that payout! Happy mylotting! :)

Hi! The low earnings is also my disappointment on the site and for us to earn big we have to spend at least a whole day here. The mylot algorithm is also too difficult to understand so we don't really know how much we will earn for a day. It's too tiring for me if I have to spend my whole day. But since I am at home 24/7, mylotting is what I do everyday. Tiring, yes, but much better rather than just sit and watch TV. Besides, I can always rest if I want to. Keep posting!

Hi,iskayz Yeah,I know how you feel.Just a few days ago,I was in the same mood,I just couldn't think of someting to post, couln't even comment on others' responses! But unlike you,I choose to leave mylot for a while because I don't want to force myself to do something that I don't want to do.I will try something else to have a break as it can help me find a way out this kind of mood. Have a nice day!
