You are a pretty girl here I tell you that there are 26 letters in our alpabet . Hello= NI HAO Welcome to speak Chinese .If you fond of China culture not only Chinese but more Chinese elements. Our pronoucation is very different from other languages and is so complex that people located in different cities of Chiina can speak different tongues . Oral speaking sounds like the rythem of songs . Because there are four kinds tunes in pronouncation . He he he , try to listen to some standard Chinese you will find out many interesting things .

hi ni ye hao . It sounds very well you are learning mandarin . It will take you a couple of years to grasp Chinese on my view . We started speaking mandarin from a child ,so we don't feel it is difficult for us to speak it . After I learned English for years I started studing some French and I found there exists same things between English and French . So we call them west languages series . While Chinese is so different from other languages .

Hi youetme...I think it's fabulous that you can speak a couple of languagues. I think it's always a good idea to learn as much as we possibly can. I know some people have leanings towards learning languagues and certainly learning languages with the same set of letters is helpful. I would love to learn Chinese but don't have anywhere to speak Chinese in my daily life and don't know any of the letters.

I guess chinese is the most difficult language to lern. It is a pictographic kind of language and its alphabet is so big that you spend 4-5 years in mastering them...but then they say its never too late to learn anything..so carry on..you will achieve success.. Best of luck for your efforts.
