For long I have thought that if someone has a favourite song, they will be good in singin it. Recently I watched American Idol and this idea of myne has been DESTROYED! Though I still believe that I can sing my favourite songs better than other songs? what bout you ppl ? peace

That seems like a nice theory that seems like it should work in practice. I mean, one would think the ability to emulate things easily would translate over into the act of singing. It words well enough with other things. Growing up, I had a tendency to mimic Comedians. Bobcat Goldthwait was one of my favorites, if only because of speech patterns and fidgety mannerisms. I used to freak my mom out by sneaking up on her and doing that guys voice. I stopped short of lighting the house of fire, because by the time he did that on SNL, I became disinterested with his whole shtick. Comedy is easy, music is isn't. If that isn't a well known saying, it probably should be. If it is, I would like to add that music groupies are easy, but comedy groupies are a myth. That explains why everybody who ever lived wants to be a rock star. But I digress... ...I can sing a little bit. I haven't watched Idol enough to give an opinion of the people who perform on that show, but I'm sure they can sing circles around me. My range sucks. I can't hit the high notes without my voice box crappy out on me, can't hit the low notes(on purpose) without sounding like a poor mans Barry White, and everything in between always sounds a bit off. I'm thinking about auditioning for that show in the future to see is Simon can come of with an insult I haven't thought of myself. I assume he has a few highly paid ghost writers at his disposal.
