I am not calling anyone anything. I am trying to learn about this Muslim religion. I just wondered why we, as Americans are classified as infadels. That is rude. So, hypothetically, if i was a Satanist, everyone would be infadels but me right?

There are a lot of things written in the Koran, including a statement that says that "The People of the Book" must be sheltered.
Now I know that the Jews are considered "The People of the Book" and in the Middle Ages when Jews were being forced to convert to christianity and then killed anyway, the Muslims took them in and sheltered them. That is how the great Jewish scholar Maimonides and his family survived those times.
I do believe that "The People of the Book" refers to christians too. Unfortunately, there is also a very strong teaching in the Koran that says a person MUST convert to Muslim or they have to be killed. Thats were the infidel part comes in. Even though the Koran is filled with teachings from the Tanach(what the christians call the old testament and the Jews call the living Bible),and the christian testament, they still say that everyone MUST convert to Islam.
You see somehow they believe that the christ is going to return and convert everyone to Muslim anyway.

What you have been hearing is incorrect, as I explained to you in the other thread of yours which appears to have been deleted.
An infidel is simply a word people (of any religion) will sometimes use as a derogatory name for ANYONE who does not believe as they do.
