Why I still love Ovie.

I have a feeling that this is the last Caps game of the season tonight so I thought I would start this post. True Crosby is on a better team and he is a great plaayer but I love Ovis more. Why? For a " fineses" player , he will and seems to love to finish his checks.He is a all purpose player.He can score but if he doesn't , he can play D.But don't forget when he is playing D that he is just a breakaway from scoring on you.Plus he is far from a Prima Donna. I bave seen him show the same amount of joy when his team mates scores as when he does.So the debate will still go on about who is better Crosby or Ovie but for me there is no contest.

I love Ovie as well. How can you not. He's just fun. The promotional video with him and some teammates as a rock band, the goal celebrations, the post game comments, let's not forget the all-star game. He's a fun guy who really enjoys what he does and makes it fun for himself, his team, and for the fans. Not to mention his ability on the ice. He has a great pass, a wicked shot, can throw the body and is reliable defensively. He's the total packacke, a complete player, and excels in everyone of those aspects.
As far as Crosby goes, I can't stand him. He's been shoved down our throats since he was 14. He comes off though he's got this sense of entitlement to the things he does. He's constantly whining. Having met him when he was younger he had this arrogance to him (whether he's grown out of that or not who am I to say, it wa 4 or 5 years ago). All in all I just can't stand the guy. All the skill in the world but he just doesn't seem to have that right attitude about himself or the game.

A Ha! Is that why the Flyers were chanting Crosby Sucks?I don't live in Pittsburgh, It is because of Mario Le Mieux I am a fan so I didn't know about The Kid's attitude.When they come to play the Caps , there is a war. I think I remeber hearing about the words being said on the ice.So now I know.Thanks for your responses. I always learn something new.

Oh yeah, sorry I found this discussion so late. Crosby is the single most overrated player in the history of the NHL. Mario handpicked him to be the next legend and Mario has pull with Bettman. He still lives in Mario's basement, even though he's making millions. There's something there that I won't mention in this venue, lol
Crosby can only score when he's parked in front of the net, like Mario. Crosby cries when someone finishes a check on him, like mario. Crosby cannot fight unless he can cheap shot someone to get the edge, like Mario. Yes, crosby has been trained well.
But, much like I pitied Jagr when he had to play with Lemeiux, I hate that someone as talented as Malkin has to be in Crosby's shadow. Malkin is clearly the better player, all around.

Ovie isn't cocky or selfish. If he were, he wouldn't celebrate other's goals as much as he does. I am here in D.c but I root for the Pens too, especially when they are playing The Flyers.
