In her short time in off Napolitano has manage to tick off and offend a lot of people. Well a lot of them are now calling for her to resign.
"I don't know that the secretary understands the depth of the disruption that she's caused," Rep. Michael Burgess, R-Texas referring to the report on extremist threats. "I think the appropriate thing to do is for her to step down and let's move on."
Stern calls for her ouster Wednesday night on the House floor.
"Mr. President, fire that woman," said Rep. John Carter, R-Texas, complaining that Napolitano's comments on the controversial report were half-hearted. "To go on television and say your apology to be, 'I'm sorry you were offended by this report,' that's no apology."
Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., also said Napolitano's resignation is in order, and she should be brought before Congress for a hearing
When told that a lot of individuals did not feel that her apology was not enough, she replied "well that is all they are going to get".
What do you think? Should she resign? Should Obama fire her. Is her apology really enough?

I would prefer she got fired. Before long there will be no need for Homeland Security to protect us as Obama has made it very clear that Islamic terrorists are not a threat as he kisses the a$$ of every Islamic leader and Napolitano manages to insult decent people by calling them terrorists and illegal immigrants are not criminals.

I agree that she should resign but I would really get more personal satisfaction by seeing her fired. She is definitely bad for this country and I really don't see how she can function effectively in her position now that she's managed to offend most of the country.

I know what you mean. I would like her to resign. But I would love it if she got fired. But then I take a personal offense to her and the way she runs homeland security.

I'm pretty sure I've heard of the two Texans but I'm VERY familiar with Michelle Bachmann. So she thinks Napolitano should resign, does she? I think SHE should be recalled for calling for liberals to be investigated for anti-American activities. If Bachmann dislikes Napolitano that much she (Napolitano) must be an OK person...lol!

I personally want her to be fired....why? She called ME a domestic terrorist. Her statement said "Ron Paul supporters, members of Campaign for liberty, Third party candidate supporters, states rights supporters, ect....
Well I fit the ones I named. So she is calling ME a domestic terrorist that should be watched by homeland security. Then in another one she went after our poor veterans say they posted a possible threat due to their weapons knowledge and training. Then she blamed Canada for allowing the 9/11 terrorist into the country. Which was not true.
THe blanket statements and profiling she is using as head of homeland security is not only wrong and offensive but dangerous.
This woman obviously can not handle this job. She needs to be replace. HOmeland Security is not to be used as a weapon to intimidate people for their political beliefs. Our veterans deserve more respect than that for the job they have done for this country. ANd canada had nothing to do with 9/11. "I am sorry" does not cut it. She needs to go. NOW.

No question of either of those women's statements being taken out of context. They both need to go. You won't get an arguement out of me. I agree.

Before we jump to try to get her out, the first question should be who would replace her.
The underlying problem is that we voted in a group of people who don't under the threats facing our nation, so they are putting people in place with siumular views and misconceptions.
As a side note, there was also a memo aboult left wing extremists, so there are probably better things for us to waste our time on until we get to an election when we can insert some more competant people into government.

I do not care if that she also did one for what she calls "left wing extremist". Most of htem are probly not even extremist. The ones she calls "right wing extremist" sure aren't. Her profiling policies are wrong and illegal. But you are right. MOre need to done than just replacing her. Changing the policy on how Homeland security labels people and profiles people is definately in order.

To be honest, I didn't read either report first hand, and I have only heard the snippets of each that people are "outraged" about. So yeah, they pointed out all the sort of usuall things.
also as a point of correction, I ment to say "undersand" instead of "under" above

I would be curious to see if these memos have been published in the past and just happen to have been less inflamatory.
As for Profiling, I am all for it when it comes to national security. We have had this debate before when it comes to passangers on an airline, and what seems like a reasonable argument in this case, leads to situations where 98 year old grandmothers from new Jersey are treated the same in security as 32 year old males of middle eastern decent.
Understanding that at some level we have to screen everyone and enforce laws for everyone, it is also true that some groups are more likely to commit crimes than others, and not to try to identify those groups from a law enforcement perspective is silly.
Do I agree with Napolanos assesment? No. But it is still important that assesments be made. I would rather attack her on her judgement not on the idea that she is judging others.

Hi lilwonders...If the President put her in this position then it's possible that he believes she is the best person for the job. Whether or not she has offended people is probably irrelevant at this point. Why isn't it possible that her statements are statements that the administration is not only comfortable with but agree with?

Then we americans have a lot more problems than we knew about if the administrationn agrees with her.

If she were smart, she'd step down voluntarily. She's managed to tick off most of the country with her idiocy and complete job incompetency, and she doesn't show any signs of stopping.

Not to mention she offended the whole country of Canada the other day. I guess she figure she has offended all the americans so it was time to move on to offending other countries. I wonder which one will be next.
I agree she need to step down or be fired.
