How hard is it to find work, where you live?

Jobs are very hard to come by these days, especially in my home town. You can only find one or two jobs in the help wanted page of the local newspaper. Theres hardly ever any new jobs on the department of labor website. Once I went throug all the numbers in the yellow pages to see who was hiring. I didn't find any jobs hiring. I'm trying to finish school and graduate. I'm hoping I can find a good job in my major. My major is Medical Assisting with Mangement Focus. Theres always jobs in the medical field, right.

It's incredibly hard to find a good paying job in my area. If you want to work for a place making $7.00 or so then you may have a possible 2-5 jobs to choose from but if you are looking for a decent career minded job to make a living off of its few to choose from. I know a lot of the decent jobs have slacked up pay wise in comparison to what they use to pay. I have also a high turn over rate with a lot of the local companies here because they are hiring people on temporarily and firing them when they finish a job or aren't doing well again... It's not good out there in the work field. I hope you find something! :)

It's a hard time to all of us. Some lose their jobs and make best efforts to find new, and others have to continue their boring works, endure boring bosses and circumstance. It's true life, even if it's really not wonderful as recorded in books or movies. Don't worry, crisis will go out sooner or later. Do enough preparation and wait for opportunity to catch!

May or may not easy to employ. But if you're white people and want to work outside your town. Easy to find a job. They really need you as long as you finished your studies. Thailand now is really in short of employees for English Programs. Its really in need of teacher as long as and no matter what you're. Interest check Ajarn.com. Guys easy to process a visa and permit.

There are a lot of employment offers in my city, but they are not sufficient to serve the graduate students. Employment offers here are mostly call center agents. Most graduates of nursing or courses unrelated to call center find themselves applying as agents. Some graduates opt to become call center agents because of the higher salary that they could get from being agents. While some of the industries such as engineering or marketing, although some of them offer jobs, still they only offer low salary. For practicality's sake, because of the escalating prices and hard life, most of us find work that is unrelated to our major. Like me, I work as a supervisor in some construction but they only give low salary which is not enough to compensate for all the expenses. That's why I'm looking for a job that will augment my salary. It's really a hard life. I still have to pay for my debts, and I couldn't even help my family with the expenses. I hope I can earn money here in the internet. I'll just have to work harder and better.

I guess not for your hard job thing. Only if you are good enough, jobs will turn to you. lol. Maybe you just a little bit luck or maybe you could go some other place to check whether it is hard to find one. Here in my country, it is really hard to find one since we've got so many people gathered in big cities. The most important thing for a job hunter is to match or to meet the real need of the company. It's mutual between you and the company. I suggest you take some time to really think about it and then make your wize decision. Medical field is not bad, you know. Good luck. lol

Well, the jobs in my last town were so hard to find, that I actually had to move to another state. I lived in Michigan, and I now live in Ohio. Everyday the unemployment rate increases, and Michigan's is getting worse and worse, more so than most of the other states. I lived in a slightly smaller town, and everything was shutting down, so there was almost no possible way to find any job. Now I am living here, and I think my chances are higher, because people are actually hiring. I just have to find them. Just finished getting my new State ID, and things are starting to look up. Also, the job services in Michigan were bad. The ones here are 150x better. So, I think finding a new area to look for jobs may be the best possible bet for anyone.

Jobs are hard to find and I have noticed that it is not only in my town but literally all over. There are even so many people that are losing there job nowadays. It is very sad. A friend of mine has done the same job for many many years, well got laid off and now he doesn't know what he is going to do because no one is hiring in his field of work and that is all the experience he has. I live in the Panhandle of Florida and job security doesn't exsist anymore here nor do jobs available. I haven't seen or heard of a "Help Wanted" posting in a long time. Good luck to everyone out there and ones with out a job, may God grant you another chance with one and for those who have a job, May God be looking out for you. Best of luck!

i was a fresh grad last 2007 and it almost took me a year to get a job (well, i didnt really apply for other jobs anyway). But where i live here in iloilo its hard to get a job with standard pay or regular pay. i guess it depends on what course you have finished or that if you have even finished a degree. there are blue collared jobs here but they dont pay that well. Philippines is a poor country but people here have also low standards. Some live just for the day. Surivive just for the day. Hope there are more job opporutnities for everyone.

I also decided to go back to college and finish my degree. I hope to get into the federal system eventually. Your right about the medical field. I always see postings for medical assistants and nurses.

It is quite hard to find work where I live as the choices for jobs are horrible. I already have a job but I am looking for another one but all that is available is bartending and construction, both of which I dont want to do!

I live in a small town and jobs are slim here as well. there are quite a few different place but they are all the same type of businesses like restaurants and lumber yards. There isn't much here for someone that is looking to make a ton of money or start a career here. There seems to be quite a few opening in the medical field here but I guess it depends on where you are looking and what your field is. There are hardly ever any job opening in our paper either and if you want to have a pretty decent paying job then you have to travel quite a few miles away which sort of makes no sense. A lot of the jobs back here are either for young kids looking to make a little nit of cash or an older person that doesn't have kids or family to support, it is hard here to make a great living from the jobs that are available but I still like it here because it is small and I feel safer than I would in a bigger city but there are sacrifices to every place that you live.

Hi Learning, I don't know where are you from. But i am from China, in the city i work now, it's very hard to find a good paying job now. For those people who quit their job before the economic went down, at first, they tried to find a better salary job, after 1 month, 2 month, 3 month, they still can't find a job, at then end, they got a job which is paying lower than their pervious job. See the difference? We hope with the economice turning good, the jobless can find their way back to work.
