Let's get it all out in the open.

Congress is out of control. So is the house of representative...although they do not get nearly as much press. Lets do the following on EVERY member of congress and the house reguardless of party 1. A full ethics probe. 2. A full IRS audit 3. A full campaign contributions audit 4. A full audit on all contact with Lobbyist and special interests groups and a list of all "gifts" (bribes received) 5. Drug and alcohol test all them on a monthly basis. Yep lets get it all out in the open. Look and see what kind of people we actually have running this country. Heck while we are at it lets do the whole adminstration. What do you say? Want to see the really ugly truth of it?

Hi lilwonders...It does sound like a good idea but who would do the audits? Who do you trust?

It would have to be an independent audit. Civilians not government.

I completely agree however even civilians have bias as seen by the head of GE.

I think both Congress and the Senate should have to be more closely looked at along with the entire administration. Something needs to be done to stop the don't do as I do do as I say attitude from the people in Washington. At the end of the day - they work for us - not the other way around.

The only one I can really disagree with, is the fifth. Mostly because it woulda been better done WHEN some of the most insane bills have been passed, and they'd have enough warning to escape getting in trouble with such a thing...so it'd be a waste of money...your heart's in the right place with this one, I agree with your reasons, I just don't think it's practical. Besides, your idea'll fly better without it. The rest though, yes, lets make it happen. It'd be wonderful to get the down and dirty truth of it all out, so that perhaps we can get true accountability back in the government...in an area that'd help immediately too. I'm sure we can pull a bunch of them out and replace them, if it's really needed, you know? And I say it's needed.

I guess #3 and #4 could be justified if you really want to waste money. If everything was going great in the country and we didn't have anything more important to worry about I'd say let's get a witch hunt going...lol! I'd like to see professional lobbyists outlawed altogether but I know that's not going to happen because every former politician seems to become one. Seriously, how many GOOD people would we get to want to run for office if they knew they were going to be treated like a criminal? Annie

Annie, these are the same things many executives in urban areas go through to be hired, and this list didn't include the credit check that many are now being subjected to.

Honestly, I don't care about finding out exactly what they all have done. I don't think we need to spend even more tax payer dollars to find out things we already know. I think the only way to deal with it is to vote out every member of Congress and the Senate that is currently there. Vote against all the incumbents. It's time they remember who they answer to: the people. Not the lobbyists, not the president, not foreign countries. They answer to THE PEOPLE. So, we the people need to use our power and give them all the boot. And congressional term limits wouldn't be a bad idea either.

We've given them too much power for us to be able to do this. The unknowing, uncaring American public falls for the campaign games and lies from these politicians and continues to vote in the same old crowd. This is what happens when the media is over-influential with the public. Unfortunately, there are too many of those who just regurgitate what they hear/read on CNN, NBC, CBS, newspapers, etc. and vote the same way. There's so much corruption, selfish acts, and idiocy going on in American politics right now that it's almost depressing for me to think about. The best we can do is try to inform the American public and vote intelligently.
