When was the last time you spoiled yourself? (especially you moms out there!)

It's been too too long since I've spoiled myself. Probably years, if buying some new tops doesn't count, as they were $2ea *LOL* But seriously I'm dying for a trip to a real salon! The last time I went to a salon was 6 yrs ago and I've been a few times for a trim to a walk-in place. I'd like to get my hair done, the whole works dye, cut, highlight, brows, styling.... I'm tired of being frumpy! I also want a new purse but being that I'm a SAHM & I only work say 4-10hrs a week and don't know that I can justify buying one for just one - two days of the week. I have diapers, sippie cups, snacks to carry all day, it doesn't seem practical. But darn it I want one! *LOL* How about you? What do you want to do to spoil yourself? A trip to the salon? New clothes? A night out on the town?

I totally wasn't thinking about the makeup. Mine is so old and my kids have trashed the stuff, I'd toss what is still decent if I could afford to replace it all. thanks for posting...

It sure has been a long time. Surely is time for a bit down time for just myself. I believe the last time I spoiled myself was about 4 years ago I went and got a massage...and wow let me tell you it was great. I would love to do a few different things and receiving either one would make me so happy. But a day at the spa, a relaxing getaway, another massage, getting my hair and nails done. Wow so many things.

It has been a long time since I spoiled myself. Everything has been tight financially for a while. The last 4 months especially since my husband was laid off. I rarely buy clothes unless we have to and the salon, yeah right. I just recently got my hair cut a few weeks ago because it was such a mess, but prior to that it was last Sept. since I got it cut and styled. I was going growing it out for a while to save money and to see if I liked it. I have a son in high school and graduation and prom are coming up so no time soon will I be able to splurge on myself. But things are looking up in the future. My husband has found employment which starts real soon and my son will go to work this summer. Maybe by this fall I can do some splurging.

I spoil myself cheaply! I shop at thrift stores and when I want a new purse I usually find one for a couple of bucks. I've stuck with the same one for years, even sewn up the strap because I like it so much and can't find one as good. Do you have friends that you can trade services with? How about getting together and coloring each others' hair and doing each others' nails? Not the same as a salon but a nice day with friends!

Hmmmmm, Last week I think when my Hubby gave me some money package that he received from the lottery winnings. I tried to reason with him but he insist that i should go shopping and buy a lot of things. So, i just do as ordered. then, after going to the Mall, I was surprised to see him waving at me with a bunch of flowers.

I have just did that this morning. Been dying to dye my hair (excuse the pun) :) and this morning I just went and colored my hair and had a nice blow dry and I feel fantastic about it. Next is a new wardrobe, but obviously since I am still trying to save some money for that, it will have to wait a bit more. Let's hope for the best.

I'm a sahm as well and with our two boys now ages 7 and almost 4 it seems like I maybe could spluge on myself. However most of my clothes I get at goodwill. I did even find a purse that I love for under $2. I really would like to have a massage and pedicure with one of my friends for a day out. I don't know if that will happen. But we did make plans next week to go to Archiver's for the day where we can take our own stuff and scrapbook or make cards, whatever all day. So that is a treat for us. We decided we'd better fit it in before schools out and that doesn't leave a lot of options. So I guess we are spoiling ourselves next week. Especially since it's been 2 years since we've done this.

I'm in really bad need of new clothes for myself, but I'm currently loving spoiling my daughter with new clothes. I've never really been a big fan on shopping, but now I feel like a shopaholic when it comes to her new outfits! As far as spoiling myself, I'd really like to go out for a nice dinner with my mom since I don't get to see her as often as I'd like to. I love my daughter dearly, but I feel like I need a break every now and then. She's a really good baby, but I still get overwhelmed and need to have some "me" time. Anyway, I think a nice dinner would be totally relaxing for me, even though I don't see that happening any time soon!

My husband will force me to spoil myself every so often. But these days spoiling myself usually means a shopping spree at either Salvation Army or Walmart. They're very inexpensive ways to get yourself some new stuff. I won't spoil myself with a hair do anymore because the last time I did that, I paid $40 for a cut and it sucked! But just a couple weeks ago I bought a new outfit, 2 pairs of shoes, and a new purse at Walmart for under $100. Then we went to Outback for dinner.

I don't think I have ever spoiled myself in the manner that you mentioned, but I have kind of spoiled myself this month. First, I bought a new dress that was not from a thrift shop or garage sale. Then, I ordered some flower bulbs to be sent in the fall at the proper planting time. I'd rather have flowers to plant in the yard than cut flowers that will die and be thrown out within a week.

I love this question. But to me, spoiling myself doesen't mean I have to spend a lot of money. Driving to a local Starbucks or Coffee, Bean & Tea and just getting a large iced tea of the day or a venti iced thai then going and laying down for 10 minutes in a tanning salon is spoiling myself.

I am so neglectful of myself. :-( I never seem to do anything for myself, lol. I tend to do more for others. :-) Here lately, I have noticed that I take better care of myself, you know, do the things that are most important to me. :-) I really want to thank you so much for posting this discussion. :-) It has given the iniative to start placing a little more emphasis on the things that please me. :-)
