Truth from a lier?

I came across to this question asked by my sister once..she got it via forwarded txt message and it does makes sense..now i am going to ask you the same question. If the lier says that he is lying is the lier telling the truth? What you think? :)

Yes, the liar is telling the truth because it is a known fact that the liar lies and does not tell the truth. So, since the liar admittted at the time that he was lying then he told the truth. Ha! Ha! I hope that makes sense. :-) Thanks for asking this question. It really makes your think. :-)

lols..that is just fine..the answer i think will depend on how you look at it.. my only urpose on this is to make other think heheheh.. i think i am successful on that thought enough lols

This question is asked when students are taught logic. This question has no answer at all. It has an ambiguous answer. That means that you cannot really predict the answer... It is similar to, There is a rabbit who is running towards a particular finish line. This rabbit is hopping towards the finish line. His first jump covers half the distance between him and the finish line and then the distance jumped by him becomes half during each jump. In how many jumps will he reach the finish line ??? I hope you got the question...

Since you say he is a liar and he says he is lying then he must be telling the truth. He cannot be lying when he says he is lying because then he would not be a liar if it is true that he is not lying.
