Best Place to Stay in Hawaii????

My husband and I would like to plan a trip to Hawaii. The only thing is that we dont know which island or where to stay. I would hate to go and find out that there was a better place we should have seen. I know all of Hawaii is probably fantastic but we are an active couple and would like to have fun rather than eat and relax. Some things we definately would like to do are parasailing, jet skis, swimming etc. If anyone has any suggestions we would love to hear them!!! Thanks!

I found Hawaii to be rather expensive compared to California for things like accommodation and food. I stayed at a backpacker's hostel on the north shore of the island that has Honolulu on it. The beach had mighty waves and surfing was popular. Swimming wasn't possible. It was interesting but sad to visit Pearl Harbor and I enjoyed a fantastic whale watching trip. I would suggest you get a detailed travel guide book with lots of accommodation listings that tell you the prices. I hope that you will have a wonderful time in Hawaii, the climate is perfect.
