What oddities have you seen canned? Before today I guess the oddest thing I have heard of being canned was something my father had... Canned Sasketchian (sorry Canada my spelling :( ) air... touting its freshness. But, today while grocery shopping I came upon little tins of Pig Brains in cream. I was tempted for a brief moment to make the purchase.... thinking I would serve it to my husband who is willing to try most anything... but, I would have to SERVE it and did not think I would be up to the task. I have an old cookbook that gives recipes for brain. I find the whole idea disturbing though. Have you ever eatten fried or canned pigs brain? What do you think of it?

I don't think pig brain, tinned or otherwise, is something readily available in the uk, at least not the part i live in! I don't think i've ever really come across something in a tin that i would consider particularly odd really. My hubands just suggested Pringles to me (wrong sort of tin i think!) becuase he thinks they should come in a packet like other crisps!

Nope and I don't want to either! I have eaten tongue...beef tongue that is.....and once pickled pigs feet and as I have gotten older I like to stick to the regular foods....and I really don't eat alot of meat anymore either...

my mother likes that stuff - tongue, tripe (intestines) and headcheese. I can't think I would enjoy such.
