What if Johnny Depp is the new Joker of the Batman Series...

I started this discussion on another interest namely "Johnny Depp" in "People I admire"...There are only 142 members there.So I thought it will be nice to see what others have to say about this.
Heath Ledger set a new standard as the joker in the new batman series.It was completely different from the one jack nicholson played many years ago.Heath even won the oscar for the role.But since he has died I thought if Christopher Nolan wanted to make another batman movie with joker as the villain,whom will he choose?Do you think Johnny Depp can justify the role after Heath???Can you imagine Depp saying "WHY SO SERIOUSSS????"" I sure can because I know that our dear old Jack Sparrow can do anything,Don't YOU????

Okay so I think Depp is a brilliant actor and out of the well known names I would say he would probably be the best choice to step into Ledger's shoes. I am not sure he would want to as he would not be able to put his own slant on the character without being critiised for changing the character too far.
But personally I hope that when the next movie is made they decide on an unknown actor to step into that role as then comparisons between their characterization of The Joker and previous roles they had been in will not be so easy. Plus Ledger really did make The Joker his own so for anyone to try and live up to it would be extremely difficult.

I was never a Heath Ledger fan but I have to say that his role as the Joker was BRILLIANT....Best work ever IMO and such a shame he didnt get to see the finished film...
As for Depp being the next Joker..Ithink he would do an amazing job! He's very versatile as an actor and I've yet to see him in a role that he didnt pull off amazingly....

Well I gotta say...I loved Heath Ledger, still do. He actually creeped me out in that movie, he did the role WONDERFULLY! But I actually think Johnny Depp would not be the worst actor to take over the role. I don't think anyone could ever do as good as Heath.
I think Depp can mold himself really well to different roles, he was very good in Secret Window. I didn't see that musical where he played the killer who made pies...the barber guy. But I'm sure he was brilliant, and that must have been a creepy role. So I think Depp has a lot of experience, and I think he could do the Joker just fine.
But no matter who they got to play the joker, I think everytime that actor came on screen AS the joker, people would always think of Heath, and there will always be comparisons.
