Tell me about the Tea Parties...

Did you participate? How did it go? Did it accomplish what you hoped it would accomplish? Was it a good experience? Was it frustrating if you didn't get the coverage that you had hoped for? I'm just curious about your overall experience and anything else that you would like to share on the topic. I know I'm a little late in asking these questions, but better late than never, right?

How condescending of you to ask these questions. I take it that you oppose the TEA parties, and approve of the runaway spending spree by the president and the democrat Congress. So tell me... how do you feel knowing that these policies condemn your children and grandchildren to a lifetime of paying for things that they had nothing to do with. Do you approve of the economic ramifications of not only the things already done, but also the things being planned? Why don't you read up on the TEA parties, their causes and goals? These were attended by people from every political party, and ethnic groups. It was not a white republican movement as the 0bamunist propaganda machine would have you believe. It concerned everyone who is concerned about what is happening to our country, and has been building for awhile. The continued and accelerated abuses by our government since the elections was merely the final straw. This is far from over, and merely the beginning... not the ending.

"How condescending of you to ask these questions. " Oh My God. I'm wondering if you're the same person that accused me of being "patronizing" once in a discussion about abortion... "I take it that you oppose the TEA parties," You really need to get over yourself and stop jumping to conclusions. I truly want to know what the message was and how they turned out, from a first hand perspective. At this point I don't even know if I can bring myself to read the rest of the Cr@p that you've posted here. I may come back to it after I've calmed down. (I'm somewhat laughing in disbelief here)

Okay, after a few deep breaths, I'm back... "Why don't you read up on the TEA parties, their causes and goals? " That's sort of what I'm TRYING TO DO HERE... and I do have a family and I am TRYING to balance my political interests with actually SPENDING SOME TIME with my children. I did take a moment while SPENDING SOME TIME with my aging father, to read the paper and an article about what's been going on during Obama's first 100 days. But while I was there, I got a call from my SON who needed me for something... So, FORGIVE ME if I'm not as "informed" as YOU think people SHOULD be. I'm tryin' here to do my best to be informed AND be a decent parent. It seems to me that you think anyone who DARES to have an opinion different than yours is "uniformed" or "ignorant" or a "moron" or any number of words that you enjoy throwing into your Oh so informative posts. Thank you for the tiny bit of information that you managed to provide me that you mixed in with your assumptions and insults. I guess if I want to read anything worthwhile that you might have to say, I have to have the patience to WEED THROUGH your HATEFUL BS. And if I sound "patronizing" or argumentative...to bad...as the saying goes..sometimes if you cant' beat them you gotta join them. I guess you, apparently can only comprehend people who stoop to your level of insults.

Oryan I just started another discussion asking that very same question. Destiny is not the only person who's twisted my questions, or taken them the wrong way. there haven't been MANY but there have been a few. I really did think I was pretty straightforward with my questions and my comments. Apparently I have some "ulterior motive" to everything I say.

TEA is an acronym for Taxed Enough Already. One was held on April 15th - tax day. Another one is supposed to be on July 4th. For more information on that: http://www.teapartyday.com/

Did not participate. But here are some of the facts I know. First off it was a libertarian movement, largely Ron Paul camp, that was high-jacked by the (so-called)right (typically far right) and presented as if it were their own. The original "tea-partiers" (I had to erase "tea-baggers" given the reference) were protesting the big spending of both the (right) Bush and his goons and the (left) Obama and his goons. (False paradigm for those who pay attention--left and right at the extremes is one and the same). It was highjacked--misaligned, misconstrued, and abused by both the extremes of the left and the right.

I did not go, though I wanted to. I was sorely disappointed with how many tea parties went. The media coverage caused great confusion among many Americans. Fox hyped what was a noble grassroots movement (IMHO) to protest bad spending/taxing policies, and they turned it into a pet project. It devalued the essence of the grass roots movement. Because of their increased involvement, other media networks felt the need to cover it in a not-so-flattering light. How many times have the tea-party protesters been lumped together as anti-Obama racists? Too many, in my opinion. Furthermore, I think the involvement of the media dragged out the anti-Obama crowd. This protest was originally about taxes and spending policies that spanned multiple administrations - not just the current one. However, people used this protest to stand up on their soapboxes and protest the Obama administration, which caused further confusion for people who knew little about it. I say shame on all those who turned this into an event to just whine about the President. If you want to do that, make your own darn protest, don't drag your issues into the tea parties. If you were going to protest the Obama administration, at least try to keep the issue financial. Overall, the intentions of the tea party protests were good, but the media coverage and turn out of idiotic protesters who used this as an avenue just to protest the current president soured the occasion.

Did you know because of the media and how talk show radio is going that the FCC has been approached to have monitors for their broadcases so there is a 'fair' and 'variety' of reporting. Today's media is all onesided. We aren't getting the full story because the news media doesn't want you to know what's going on.

No, I've never participated, but been watching a few of them - or at least what the media will 'allow' us to see. I think what people forget is this isn't about one party pointing fingers at another. It's the American public that's just sick and tired of the banks that run this country taking our hard earned dollars and spending it on things we have no control off. I wish more accurate recordings of these tea parties were shown - THANK GOD FOR YOUTUBE! Even if CNN is trying to get those pulled off the internet.

I apologize for my "ignorance" (as some would say), but how and why? I assume your talking about vidoes that CNN does NOT have the rights to.
