I had worked in night shifts longtime ago for four years. Now a days, I am working in dayshift for the past 2 years until I lost my job. Have you worked in shifts? Do you like working in night shifts and other shifts?

I would not like to work in shifts and never had. I did work at night doing postal work but I did not like it because it really messed me up. I like to get up in the morning, have a nap, and then work a bit more and then go to bed at night. Shifts rather confuse me.

I also felt very down and sad and depressed when I was working in night shift mainly because I do not get enough sleep and at the end I felt very tired that I wish I could sleep at night before when I was working in night shift. I worked around 3 to 4 years continuously in night shift and finally I was not able to sleep at night for couple of days even after change of job and change of shift to day shift.

I sort of cry a lot and get very depressed and I get confused and bump into things and I am naturally clumsy so I do not like to work at night. And thanks for the best response.

I can't say that I've liked it, but I've worked all kinds of shift, 12 hour rotating days/nights, (6 days a week - a 72 hour week) 6 am - 2 pm early 2pm - 10pm afternoon and 10pm - 6am nights as well as 10 hour day/night shifts and regular day work morning to afternoon.

Well I have not experience working on a night shift. Although these are now becoming a norm in my place since the call centers have sprouted and developed rapidly in our country. I am now seeing many people working on night shifts already. And what is good about them is they earn more that those that work on day time because they are paid night differential pay. I too am curios what it feels to be in a nght shift but right now I am happy with my day job and so far pay has been able to pay for my expenses.

ajithlal, I prefer a straight shift, non-rotating. I am more of a night person than day but can adjust to most any shift. However, I find it best for me to work a second or third shift so I can run my kids to appointments during the day.

I also think rotating is tough for us to adjust.

In my previous job, I always had to work in rotating shifts and I must say, I don't like night shifts.I rather prefer early morning than late night shift. If I am in night shift,I feel sleepy and tired in the morning. Also, it is very hard for me to stay awake after 1:00 AMHave a nice day!

Being a creature of habit, I prefer to work a regular shift during the day time or an after noon shift. I do not like split shifts or shift work persay. I am not a graveyard working and will not work the midnight shift as i am a morning person. I like to be in bed at a reasonable hour and be up early in the morning. I have worked afternoons and graveyards in my past but prefer day time hours now a days. Overal, I prefer to set my own schedule.

To be honestly i don't like working in a multiple shift. Between night shift and day light shift, i prefer to choose a daylight shift because it feels normal for me.
