I am trying to work on a little wooden project and I am not sure what type of saw I would need to use. I am not very "smart" in the saw world at all so I really need some help.
What I am looking for is a saw that will cut a straight line through a piece of wood that is about an inch thick. What I have is a bunch of pieces of wood that are about eight inches long and maybe about ten inches wide and an inch thick...what I would like to do is cut those pieces of wood in half that way I have two pieces that are like four inches long but I just want the edges to be straight and being that they aren't real big pieces I don't want a huge powerful thing.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what type of saw I should look into buying?

HI Frogieslove, you could try to borrow one saw from your neibours or your friends, they could give you advices if they know how to use a saw,I think you need a big size saw but I am not sure what the size should be,I used to see my dad use it,and there are many kinds of saws he used, big ones and small ones.you could also go to the store and ask advices from the saw sellers, they should know what kind of saw you need.
have a nice day
