Help yourself and then help others!

People says to help others but I prefer to help myself first to be able to help others. What do you think and what you prefer to help yourself first or to help others first?

Definitely I will help myself first before I can help others. I cannot be in a poor and unhappy state as I wouldn't have the strong physical capabilities to help others.

well if i can do both then i will. while helping myself i can help others as well. sometimes if you help others while helping yourself you ending up helping one another. then it was all fun and easy. but sometimes there are people who ask for help but does not know how to lend a hand. those are the kinds that pissed me. so in my views if we can help while helping ourselves then why not.

Realistically speaking one really CAN'T truly help another if they are incapable of helping themselves....I have been through a great deal in my life and there is no way I oculd help another person without having helped myself first....
