the way u speak is the way u impress others n if u converse in english its better n even dignified than others.

it depends on what kind of work you do.. if you have a job which involves interacting with english speakers, then its is definately required to know, otherwise knowing a regional language is enough.

we certainly need english for we see that globalisation is ommitting the boundaries day by day & english is acting as the interface between various cultures, countries & societies.

I think English is a great language and I'm glad it's used all over the world, so you can communicate with anybody. What if the international language was, say Chinese instead of English... OMG, I can't even imagine it. LOL!

if chinese was the international language........we would have been discussing here in chinese ....as simple as that...........
and the discussion comment would have been what if it was english .....with pretty similar responses

Well, it depends, I'd say. To speak English in general is a wonderful thing because you can communicate with a whole lot poeple in the world...and that doesn't have to be "good" English...*smiles* To speak GOOD English is certainly important if you intend to make a carreer in science or business; then you should study the language intensly and use it properly. For all othe purposes, it's enough to be able to communicate clearly.
