We got a beautiful sunday yesterday finally, the temperature went a lot warmer and the sun came up high:-D Hubby and me worked at the yard in the early morning, finished cleaning all the crab on the yard, my puppy got to swim in the pond, played frisbee etc. We got little toasted and sweated, I haven't sweated for a long time, it felt great! Today I'm gonna do more on the yard and probably bring my puppy swim again if he is lucky! hehe:-) How did you spend your last weekend? Is where you live getting warm yet?

I went to a carnival, rode on all the flippy rides and had lots of fun. Then on sunday, I did homework, went on the computer, worked out, finished up on homework, then went to sleep.

On Saturday my husband and I attended the 1st Annual Volunteer Seminar for all the volunteers with our county sheriff dept. The seminar included a pinning cerimony for volunteers who had 1000 service hours. They also had displays from each sheriff station highlighting the various volunteer groups and activities. My husband & I are volunteers with our station Hamwatch program. Hamwatch is a group of amateur radio operators who give their time and talent to support auxiliary communications, community events, and even special assignments like stakeouts. We had little over a week notification that we were to do a display for hamwatch so we had radios, antennas, test equipment, and an antique two way hand held once used by John Wayne. I put together a simple picture board with a sign and write up about our group. While many of the other stations has picture boards that looked like creative scrapbooking with lots of froo froo, both the sheriff and under sheriff really liked our simple picture board and radio display. The under sheriff even called one of our associate members to tell him about our display. The seminar had Erin Runion as featured guest speaker. Erin is the mother of Samantha Runion, a five year old girl that was abducted, raped and killed by a serial child molester. This happened just in our neighboring county a few years ago. All the various law enforcement departments put aside and territorial issues and found poor Smatha's body in record time.. something like a day and caught the perp in just a few days. As part of her healing process Erin Runion started not one but several foundations geared towards stopping and preventing child abuse/child abductions. She was the driving force that got the Amber ALert system started. One of the programs is called R.A.D. Kids. RAD stands for resting Agression Defensively and teaches kids from 3 to 12 years old how to fight back and empowers kids to know how to say NO and report abuse. Our sheriff dept is adopting the program and making it part of the sheriff's Youth Athletic Legue. So far across the country over 150,000 kids have been through the program. About 1200 kids have sucessfully fought off molesters and about 25 have avoided abduction by fighting back or creating too much of a commotion. Sunday was spent resting and reflecting on various parts fo the seminar. One to two weekends a month are spent volunteering with either our sheriff dept or other volunteer radio communications/ emergency response teams.

The John Wayne radio came from the collection of a retired camera and sound technician, Les Martin. He was part of a social group on one of the repeaters in the General Mobile Radio Service. He was the camera and sound tech when John Wayne was directing the filming of the movie The Alamo. The radios used on the set were made by Motorola and were pre production models that the film industry was testing out. (circa late 1960's) They were to be returned to Motorola when the filming was done but Mr Wayne asked to keep his. Motorola put out a full line of the radios that were used in public safety and commercial business. Since Les worked with him on many other projects, the radio found its way into Les' collection of memorabilla. Three years ago, Les moved to the motion picture retirement home and we helped him move. As a thank you he left the two way and a few other pieces of antique communications equipment with our VERT team. Last year, at a ham swap meet we found the exact model charger once use with the same line of radios. With the charger we no longer fear having the radio knocked off the table. The old "brick", being 3-4 times larger then modern radios, makes a great conversation piece.

I think this is so great that youall are doing this. I've heard of the Amber Alert but I didn't remember for sure how it was started exactly. It seems like I've heard of RAD, too. That was so sad about the little girl who was abducted, raped, and killed. I'm glad that the person who killed this child was caught in a few days. I know youall are very honored. I think it's very interesting that youall had an antique two way hand held once used by John Wayne. Youall must be wonderful people. I do a lot of volunteer work, myself. I sing and play the guitar for an area nursing home and assisted living facility once a month. I also volunteer at a therapeutic riding center once a week. Keep up the good work. Kathy.

Each Saturday of these days is working time to me. So the realy relaxing day is just Sunday. Last Sunday I waked up very late to have a enough rest. After lunch, I went to the gym to build my health. You know health is the most important thing to all of us. In the evening I planned to use my computer originally. But it didn't work. So my wife and I went out to have a walk. We just found walking out was much better than staying home. In a word, I had a comfortable weekend and I enjoyed it very much.

This weekend was great! The weather was so lovely and perfect. On Friday evening my sister brought over some crawfish and we sat outside on the picnic and ate them. On Saturday I flew a kite and blew bubbles with my daughter. The weather was prefect for flying a kite. On Sunday I attended church and after church my daughter played outside for a few minutes and we flew the kite again.

We have moved in to our new place, a one bedroom condominium unit.. actually, it was unexpected.. i was shocked that my hubby decided to moved in to a new place and leave our old studio type unit.. we have tranferred 95% of our stuffs from our old place to the new one.. we have to go back to building A tomorrow to get the things left there.. yesterday, i have visited my granny's place in the south.. then returned to our home at 8 in the evening.. it's getting cold each day.. the rains we are experiencing right now is due to climate change, according to weather experts..

I spent my entire weekend tryingt o get my house organized. I finally went through all the papers and things that have accumulated over the last year. Saturdat, we attempted a yard sale, but the weather was bad, so that didn't work. We ended up hauling things to Goodwill to donate them. Sunday, I got things pretty well in order. I think that i did more work this weekend than I have in a long time in my house. Unfortunaltely, doingthings that had to be done around the house kept me away from my computer all weekend too. The weather here was nice most of the week, but by the weekend, it was getting colder and rainy. I hope that it warms up again soon so my garden plants don't end up dying.

My mom threw me a bridal shower yesterday. I had about 15-20 people show up and we just ate, played some games, and then I opened my gifts. Today my fiance and I went to the park and then went to play some basketball. But now the weather is crappy again and its been raining all night and is suppost to rain more this week. Hopefully it stops by next weekend cause we are getting engagement photos done in the park.

I live in Georgia and it was awesome last weekend! It was like 91 on Saturday and my hubby took the kids to grandma and grandpas for a few hours! Wow that was nice, only went outside for a little while though, I actually had a chance to clean my carpets with all of the traffic out of here..lol I took breaks and read a little while on the porch under the fan. Ahh..yes, I do love this weather. Playing with the dog by the pond sounds like a great time too ;)

I went shopping with my bf last weekend. The weather is not so stable in my city these days. The temperature was very high in the past few days, but it went down in the last weekend.Fortunately,it was still warm.So we decided to go shopping in the weekend. My living place is very hot now.I think it is already summer now!The temperature here is always up to 20C,sometime even much higher. As the weather is not bad,I am planning to have a visit to Macau in this weekend.I hope the weather will not turn bad at that time!

Yes, im so glad that finally I can feel spring all over the place. The temperature is warm enough to enjoy walking and do some outdoor activities. Last weekend, I and my beau did some walking around our area. I and my sister late afternoon watched the movie IF TOMORROW COMES of Sidney Sheldon's and took us 5hours to finish the entire movie. Late night before midnight struck or before my birthday, I watched alone the movie BREAKFAST AT TIFANNY's. Too bad my beau had to work on my birthday, so I and my sister went to the Central Park and did some people watching while we're licking our ice cream. We went to the church, unfortunately there was no mass at that time so I just made my silent prayer. We ended my birthday by eating dinner at TGI Fridays. I was so damned full that I cant hardly breath. Such a good weekend for me.

I went to Disney World and then to the Florida Mall to get in some shopping and i had a blast and the weather was very good and worked out for us. It never rained and i was so excited about that. Went in the pool at the hotel and that was very pretty and a lot of fun as well. Of course my back and legs are hurting from walking so much, but after all it was well worth it. Shopping at the mall was a lot of fun and i enjoyed that because the mall where i am in south Florida doesn't offer a lot of junior clothes store and that would just seemed to have them all and i enjoyed that even though i didn't get a lot. SO i live in south Florida so of course the weather here has been warm since around February and i enjoy that a lot at times it gets cold and a little cold front comes in but we only have another month till Hurricane Season and that is really starts getting hot and miserable to be outside.

Lets see....last weekend my son had a football game in the morning on Saturday then we spent about 45 minutes in the car trying to find a Toys R Us then we walked around it for about an hour and then drove home which was about another 45 minutes. From there we had 2 birthday parties to go to, both at the same time so that was fun. Luckily they were within a short distance of each other so I dropped my husband and 1 son at the one party for his friend and me, my daughter, my other son and the baby went to the neighbors babys party. It was interesting..lol. Sunday we didnt do much, I dont think.....I think we were home all day Sunday. The kids washed the car out front and I did some laundry.
