Are there any legitimate online jobs?

I have looked and looked and it haven't found a job online that says it does what it does. Earn a chunk of cash by simply doing this or that but you have to pay a membership fee for this or you have to do something you have no idea on how to do. where do I need to look to make the big bucks? I would love to make money from home on the side from my day job so I can at least afford to cover my daycare cost and have something extra not break even. Any suggestions people?

Most "jobs" online are scams...an about 90%....
The only way you can make money is to start affiliate with your own site, or blog that will generate big traffic.
Other than this, you can make spare cash only...

I think the best way is invest on sport arbitrage.
it's very difficult at the begin but after you can earn money every day and when you want. You'll be not a milionaire but you can earn money even you win or lose on betting..

Since you are from US I think that the best way to make money online easy and free is by completing free surveys. Of course you cannot be rich from it, but you can make a lot. If you are interested you can join www.41percent.com which is free and have many surveys for you to complete.
