What are the characteristics of a "classic" filipino telenovela?

I rarely watch filipino telenovelas because if you have wahtced one, you have watched them all. Typical signatures of filipino telenovela includes (but is not limited to) moms losing their baby at birth (duh at this era???), main characters losing their memories but then again regains and the list goes on. What is your favorite signature? can you suggest new ideas or twists for our overly uninteresting telenovela industry?

I'm not really into watching telenovelas.I've notices the prevalence of "rich-guy-falls-in-love-with-poor-girl" or vice versa theme.it's quite evident in Filipino telenovelas.

i don't know, really, what it is with telenovelas that make me cringe now. the only telenovela i've watched with gusto was the one by juday and robin padilla of abs cbn. the others are just plain corny.
