I am working on a book. I get instant thoughts and need to preserve them instantly. My typing speed is very slow and also it looks a very tedious job to me. I have heard about different softwares available that can convert speech into text. Do you have any idea about any such software? If so, please share it with me.

Which operating system are you using? If you have windows vista, then you all ready have a speech to text application built right into windows. However, if you're using another operating system Dragon Naturally Speaking is probably your best option. Also maybe check out jott.com

My husband often speaks highly of one called "Dragon Naturally Speaking" Put that into a search engine somewhere, and search for it. It's a good one that he used to use at his office in Arizona, He is looking to get a copy for himself one of these days soon, for our own use here at home.

Your husband speaks about a real good product. I tried Dragon Naturally Speaking few days back, and have found it to be extremely good. Thanks for the suggestion and the response!

Just to warn you about speech to text software, it works weirdly haha. You should go to youtube and look for some videos on it. It is actually hilarious :) But since you're using XP I will say Dragon naturally speaking, I haven't tried it, but it's the only one I know of.
