Is HELL customized?

i have a question for people that believe in hell.. will it be customized to each person or just the hell fire and brimstone thing? i know most religions preach/teach its going to be one way but i cant help but wonder if every person would experience it different depending on their own personal hates and fears.. like i hate being cold and spiders etc so to me hell would be being stuck in a freezing place with spiders all around.. yeah i know not a good example but i think you get my drift.. even though i dont believe in hell i just have always wondered this.. IF you believe in hell do you think it will be the same for every one or different depending on that person? and what would your own personal hell be like? your worst possible situation.. feel free to answer even if you dont believe in it.. im curious on everyones takes but please no speeches on whether it does or does not exist

I read a story years ago in some teen magizen about a girl who was in a cult and they tought her that hell wasi n fact customized. She had been raped as a teenager and the cult told her that would be her destiny if she didn't change her ways. I don't belive that hell is customized I belive that its a burning pit that never ends. What would my hell be ... clowns touching me.

Thats an interesting question....what would my personal hell be? I guess either not having my kids or worse yet seeing them in pain, hurting etc and not beign allowed to go to them, comfort them...like having to watch them go through trauma on a tv screen so they dont know I'm around and I cant be there for them...

This is a very interesting question. I don't be lieve in Hell but I did have to come in here to tell you that this is a really interesting question. I will have to ask one of my more conservative relatives. As for me, my idea of hell is a place where women are opressed, and men have all the rights. I don't want a hell on earth, so I spend most of my time trying to figure out how to make it so women are no longer opressed on this planet.

The christian hell is patterned after Dante's poem "The Inferno". There is no word for hell in the Bible. The word "Hades" translates out to mean "The Grave" not hell. Most of the Jews that I know simply believe, that when you die you meet your Maker and at that time you make a choice to either ask Him for forgiveness and are then able to spend eternity with Him (Heaven), or harden your heart and spend eternity without Him (Hell). We also believe that at any time during eternity we can get a second chance and ask forgiveness for our sins and spend eternity with G'd. Shalom~Adoniah

lol at customized HELL..now that's interesting! I grew up with the fire and brimstone hell and thought it was that way for years. Then I read somewhere that it was a pit where all the garbage was thrown and it just burned constantly, eternal fire burning over and over. I know the bible makes reference to it and there are so many parables used in the bible one is left to determine his/her own meaning. I don't believe in hell either, I think you're born, you live, and you die. Karma has a way of making people think they are living in hell..what you give, so you shall receive..so I think we all experience some type of living hell and that is most definitely 'customized'.

HELLS/PARADISE DO EXISTS HELL IS NOT ASSIGNED DEPENDING ON THE INDIVIDUAL'S LIKES/DISLIKES. IT IS SAME FOR A PARTICULAR GROUP OF PEOPLES LIKE- group of PEOPLES WHO DIDN'T PRAY/PRAISE LORD FOR THE WHOLE LIFE(will have different punishment). group of peoples who associate partners with ALLAH which means doing 'shirk' (are never will be sent to paradise){will have A PARTICULAR punishments}. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT AN INDIVIDUAL LIKE OR HATE. HELL/PARADISE DOES CONTAINS GROUPS/POSITIONS DEPENDING UPON THE DEEDS(BAD/GOOD). I HOPE THIS WILL BE THE ANSWER TO UR QUESTION..

Oh please, throw me into a lake of fire...I'm a blacksmith, I'll be dancing around in it. Hell for me would be cold , frozen in a block of ice & held motionless.

I used to believe it is just fire and brimstone or eternal darkness. But then friends from other religions told me about hell according to theirs. So I kind of think it is personalized. More like what comes around goes around. If on earth we have wronged someone and never apologized or fixed it, then in hell we would be the one that is wronged, only it will happen again and again for as long as God wants. Who goes to hell, that's the thing I am not sure of. God is the judge. I just don't think all sinner go to hell, if that's true heaven will be empty. I was told cardinal sins are a sure road to hell, they are unforgiveable even by God. there are 3 of them I forgot what exactly. but other than that, I don't know.

I don't believe in hell so it's kinda hard for me to think about my own concept of hell because it doesn't make much sense. But I think if there is a hell, it's definitely customized. I don't think of hell as a place. More like a state of mind: a dream. Or a nightmare to be exact. Could soul dream? The concept of customized hell reminds me of a horror game called Silent Hill. The Silent Hill is a town with great and dark supernatural energy. The different appearances of both the town and its inhabitants are made manifest from characters personal fears. These manifestations may be shared between characters, or otherwise appear exclusively to only one of them.

I have read in a book written by a Hindu guru R. Venu Gopalan that there is a customized "hell" for specific transgressions. I do not find it stupid but really enlightening because it conveys the same message in the Christian religion on its concept about "hell", the only difference is that, in that particular philosophy, it describes the kind of hell specific for each "sin" committed. While in the Christian Bible, it has that brief description of "hell", with the same purpose (for sinners and who've sinned) and an explanation that it is "where" one who has transgressed is destined after judgment. The beauty of it is not to think of it so much because "salvation" as a life's course has a way out to this. If one is in bad situation, he can get out of it. There's got to be a way and well, that depends on which path one chooses. Hell, no matter how it is described by other religion has its purpose and the interpretations vary. I guess, it's a reminder that we all have choices in life, we even feel the gush of hell when we feel lost, feel down in our lives...

Hell is such a situation where someone does something which is not favourable for his life or the result that he or she get after doing such things. For me hell is the result I get after getting angry where i lose all my flavours for surronding.

As I don't believe in the fire and brimstone stuff I can only give my personal view on what I would consider 'hell'...I think when you come to the end of your life , and I mean the last hours , minutes....' hell' is when you look back on your life and think about all those things you would and should have done differently, or should have done full stop. Its realizing you wasted much of your life on being a shallow person, on being a loveless and self centered person, on making material things your ' God, on finding excuses not to do the things you would have loved doing, on following norms and social expectations and not living ' your' own life . Basically, you will realize when it is too late that your life was wasted and there is nothing you can do about it. You only get one shot at it! What if you are lying in hospital or at home waiting for the last breath and no one is around, nobody close who loves you, because you pushed people away? That is my idea of hell...going into your last breath feeling unloved and unmissed, not leaving a hole in anyones life. How sad would that be? Hellish..

i believe that hell will be the same for everyone who will go to it. pit with fire, darkness, monsters biting you, all those creeps, they will be all over you. i dont want to spend my eternity in hell, so i dont like thinking about what would my own personal hell be like. it's hard enough already to experience some sort of hell here on earth so letting my mind dwell on hell for eternity is not my thing... lol
