I own a 4 1/2 month old german shepherd. Her name is Lola. And she is a naughty girl. She gets bigger by the day and she´s very strong. So it´s difficult to keep things away from her. And she seems to have a special desire for the things she shouldn´t have. Her toys are not so coveted as one of my slipper or a pot of my favorite plants. How is your puppy. Do they behave? Lola has learnt "sit" and "down" but she has yet to learn not to throw herself over me with all her force Please share.

dogs are just the best. But you have to train them for obedience specially if they would grow to really really big adult dogs. I had a rottweiler once and I trained it while it was still a puppy. I didn't have any problems with it when it grew up, we could walk the streets together and it would be leashless. She would just walk beside me and not run away. When she was a puppy, we would play with her toys, like old tennis balls, I'd throw them and she'd fetch it. LOL.

My puppy was spoiled rotten and yet I have him that he sits and lays and when I say leave it he does. LOL!! But it took time. I will say that puppies are very strong willed. LOL! But I wish you luck have fun, be firm, and make sure that you don't give in. A puppy is like a small child they will push there boundaries.

Lola is a very bright girs. She sits and lays down at my command. BUT when she gets up, the throws all her maybe 70 pounds of energy over me. A friend who has had dogs all his life told me yesterday to stop her with my knee when she does that and to say NO. The real problem is that she is a little girl with a lot of strenght. And I´m an old witch with back surgery

It's really hard to train puppies not to chew or destroy anything inside the house. I have a two month old terrier that's very active and want to explore his surroundings. It's good that you already teach her the command sit and down. It's a step for her to learn that your the master, to avoid problems you should teach her obedience training. There are class for obedience training in puppies that you could try or if you don't have the time you could try reading books about these matter. I'm not an expert, honestly I'm having problems with my puppy but books are great help.
