What is the biggest reason to keep you away from pets?

Dear all,
I love all kinds of pets. I also so envy that my other friends can have their own pets. They have dogs, cats, snakes, fishes, etc. Sometimes i want to have a pet so bad, but my sense tellmyself that i can't. Why? Because i like to travel all over the place, i can't take care of them properly. And i have a bad experience once, my friend gave me a cute puppy as a gift when i was in college, i love it so much, and i bought him milk, ham to feed him, his name is Blueno, then i have to go to some place for the weekend, so i have my roomate to take care of him, but when we came back, he was gone. I was so sad at that time, and every time i look at other dogs, i missed my Blueno. I think the biggest reason to keep me away from pets is that i can't take good care of them. What about yours? Please share!

Oh my nothing has been able to keep me away from having pets...HOW MANY pets I have is monitored by my husband though LOL..if I had my way we'd have a zoo in this house but since I'm not allowed i have to settle for my 4 cats and 2 dogs LOL

That is true with me, too. I have 3 little dogs. I can't have cats, because of allergies. I had just the two, but a client of mine (I am a groomer and I board pet dogs) surrendered a sweet little shihtzu to me to keep or rehome. Its kind of nice that she feels I'd be a good "mom".
It can get a little crazy with my 3 and daycare dogs running about, but I enjoy them. Nothing beats having your dog meet you at the door, so happy to see you. Every time. Completely unconditional affection.
If you travel a lot, budgies are wonderful pets. If you have two, you don't have to worry about them being lonely, and you can enjoy their company when you are home. They are very inexpensive to keep, and you can go away for days at a time, and they will be fine. Just be sure to put plenty of fresh water in their dispenser and fresh seed enough for the time you will be away. Have a friend pop in every few days to check on them when they water your plants.Budgies can be very friendly and are easy to train. They like to play with you. We had one that played "budgie soccer" and hide and seek with me!

Thanks for responding my discussion. I would love to have 4 cats and 2 dogs if i can. But i don't think i can take care of that many pets. I like play with other's dogs and cats, even just look at them and i feel happy!

You are being very responsible. Most people who know they can't take care of an animal get one anyways. And their pets end up being neglected, which is never an okay thing.
I think it would be pet hair because it gets all over everything, if I were allergic, or if I didn't have time in my life for a pet.

Thanks for responding my discussion. I see, it's because of the hair so you don't want to have the pet. Actually, that is a very big issue, one of my friends just hate dog's hair, you know dog wil have seasonal moult, that drives them crazy as you can imagin how a house looks with all the hair flew around. lol

I love pets, too.
But in my school, it is not allowed to take a pet to the classroom, the restroom, or even the playgroud. Thus, my dear pet dog,whose name is Hapby, must have to leave at home. And I only could see my pet every weekends,which will be my happidet time because I could give he food and play with her from the morning to the evening. At the same time ,Hapby also could have a happy time at the weekends.
On weekdays, Hapby was left to my parrents, but I think they did not have patience to take good care of Hapby.Mybe, when I graduated from the school, I could have enough time to play with my baby pet, and take good care of her!

Thanks for respondingmy discussion. It's sweet that you have a pet at home. You can still see her once in a week. And don't worry, you dad and you mom will take good care of her. Because your pet only see you once in a week, she is very happy to be with you and you are very happy too. Maybe your parents feel they are ignored? lol
