What irritate you most in public places? I am mostly irritated by selfish people talking on cell phone in the library and book store where every one get to hear him 'loud n clear' without any consideration for others. Also those drivers who like to turn their car stereo system to the max. where the noise just blasted through the whole neighborhood at early hours of the day or late into the night. Let hear your side of story , Mylotter!!

Sorry to hear people haven't been responding well to the silence notices in your library. You can try telling the the librarian to do something about it when they're not busy. After all, most public libraries have huge membership fees and card rates. The latter is a problem. That which has been bugging me is more trivial. Often, since my college is an hour and a half away from home, i use the public transport or the collge bus. The thing about my state is that the girls don't tie their hair properly or braid it. Everyone seems to be trying to copy the actresses in the movies by leaving their hair loose - most not silky or smooth. So in these windy days, i get irritated when it flies all over my face. Its comparatively trivial and sounds funny even to me. Its an easily solvable problem. But i can't seem to able to tell the owner to do something about it - they say the life of a female is their hair, and indirectly insulting it may not be the best idea.

lol. Much as i'll like to discuss that in detail, i dont want to bore you. Every female here does that - its a trend, style, and pigtails are for kids - or for very old women. Aboout the library, usually don't they have a "Switch off your mobs" with a huge picture of a crossed red circle on a line drawing of a moblie - like they have for no-smoking? Where's the need to read english?

Wait a minute. If they can't read english, why are they in the library in the first place?

You probably don't know this, certain people in USA do not understand English well enough to read the notice, so basically it is meaningless to them even with a sign and some are just flatly don't want to conform the library or book store rule due to rebellion nature. Letting the librarian know is the right way to overcome this, at least can keep her busy for a while, LOL!!! So you think most of these girls leaving their hairs loose in order for them to fly in the air to copy actress or modal production promotion in tv to show to the world how silky her hair is after using so n so brand name shampoo or hair conditional???? well, that is weird for them to do that, cambiste! Can it be they forget about tying their hairs or don't have enough time on hand to do this chorus daily?? I can understand how irritating it will be if you happened to be sitting directly behind a head full of flying hairs. hahaha..... Thank for your response.

jeepney - public transport
i agree with you on drivers who like to turn their car stereo system to the max, in the Philippines there are jeepney drivers who do that. they can not even hear the passengers voice if he needs to stop. jeepney is a public transportation vehicle smaller than a bus. so if you like to talk with the person you are with or you saw someone you know on the jeepney it is hard to communicate with that ear banging noice, that pissed me so i dont ride on public transport with that noise. i also hate people who smoke specially when i am with my son.

Yes, my friend. Those noises from the motor vehicles especially loud stereo sound blasted through high power speakers can really made a person go 'crazy', it can make a sensible person into a walking "dynamite" after a long period of exposure in its 'polluted state', if he has a low level of tolerant threshold in his hearing. haha... Btw, i feel very uncomfortable standing around a smoker in public places too especially in bus stop, or concert, i normally just moved further away from him or avoid that area if possible. Thank for the quick response. Happy Mylotting!!

jeepneys are not just for tourist but one of the means of transportation here in our country. i think there are more jeepneys than buses for jeepneys are more cheap than bus. it is has no aircondition so it is cheaper than the bus and the train. i will give you a link that you can watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvIwHxRAREo&feature=related jeepneys are more king of the roads here than buses. you can see more buses at the bigger roads. specially when you want to travel from one city to another then you can see a lot of buses but mostly you see jeepney. the one who uploaded the video at you tube said "You have to ride jeepney if go to Philippines one day. Jeepneys are like workart of roads. Not comfortable, very noisy but great nostalgic memory" have a nice day my friend.

By the way, thank for letting us know how a Jeepney look like, it sure look like a smaller version of bus judging from the picture you posted; is it some sorts of transportation solely for the tourist in Philippines?

what bugs me is when i am out anywhere, i find that people do not watch where they are going, whether that be in the grocery store or the library! i find myself saying sorry a lot of the time even when its not my fault (when they bang into me).

You are such a polite person! Apologize to those bang into you , probably these mindless people just have their lucky day. Only rarely did i encounter the same in grocery store, probably because many shoppers here are not so "loss in mind" while doing their grocery shopping in my area. Haha.... Thank alot for your fast response, cher913!! Happy Mylotting.

I second that. I ahte it when people throw their trash out of the window, spit on the side walk, or smoke in public areas. But one cant just go up to them and ask them not to do that.

Yes, these litter bugs sometimes can be real 'pain' to local residents , seem like most of them did believe they are responsible in creating jobs for the city clean up crews if not need a 'spank' by their parents for messing up a clean place. These bugs are present wherever you attend concert, public presentation or even in public park. LOL! !! Thank for your response.
