i rarely take leave, cos i don't know when i may really need to take a few days off, so as far as possible i try to attend office. if i am sick, then i take sick leave that too only the few days that is extremely required, but some people just exhaust their leaves well in advance and then they have to manage without pay leaves

My position requires me to be present at work all the time. Although we have the privilege to take a five day forced leave still it has to be on a staggered basis. I can't be away for too long because nobody would do my work but me alone. One of the staff can be OIC for a day or two but i still have to do all the needed paperwork. Our company now is not in a very good financial standing and hiring additional workforce is out of the question. That time i took a one month sick leave my immediate boss just made a few visits to see that the operations went on smoothly but i still took charge of all the reports that needed to be submitted on time. I am at home now because tomorrow is my husband's birthday and since it would be month end he couldn't take that day off because he must be present at work to see if he met his target. We have the same jobs, the same company but are in two different branches. So today is his birthday leave and i took a one day forced leave so we could spend this day together. We also get to take our wedding anniversary leave but there is no birthday leave for me because we are not allowed to enjoy our leaves in December! Anyway i'm just thankful that there are many hoildays here in the Philippines to take the stress away!

I also rarely take a leave from work because I love going to work. However, I do not have much choice of late but to take frequent days off because I have to attend to my sister who is very ill. I went on leave when she was hospitalized, I go on leave when she has to go to her doctor or have her lab work done. It is a good thing that I still have several leave credits so that I still get paid even when I am on leave. On second thought, vacation leaves are part of an employee's benefits. It would also be beneficial, both to the company and the employee, if employees will use their vacation leave to unwind at least once a year because taking a vacation may, in the long run, actually increase productivity. Happy myLotting!
