BCCI today declared that they are willing to allow the players who has contracted with ICL and now are not making any contracts further with them. They can play international cricket after one year cooling period and domestic cricket right away. I think this is good for the players and we might get players like shane bond playing again. Onthe other side the monopoly for the BCCI will be the bad part of it as there would be no other league to give tough competition.

i have certain doubts about this decision.they also mentioned that some ICL opfficials and players apologized to them and said they made a mistake by going to ICL. have to check the credibility of the statement and this amnesty was meant for indian players alone. well i am not sure how the players r going to feel about it because most of them were virtually unknown to most of us before ICL and some of them were not even considered to play for the national squad and i dont know what they mean that they can play international cricket after one year?are they going to select those players in any of the 3 formats of game? or plug them into those IPL teams? or just want to get rid of ICL at any cost? technically these players have bright future playing for domestic circuit.it will be better if they just stick to ICL alone because most of them already lost their credibility anf respect by going to ICL among BCCI memebers

I think it is a positive move made by BCCI. Some ICL players who were looking forward to play for team India will get the chance to do so (after one year of course). Not only this, they could also participate in IPL3 the next year.

I truly welcome the decision of BCCI to allow the ICL players to come back in main stream. ICL was financially down by global recession and players see no future there. If they don't get place in INDIAN team still they are going to be benefited through playing in domestic circuit, getting pension after retirement and may be play in IPL3.

Now, it is better for Kapil dev to release their players and close this ICL league. I mean he must not be making profits with it and now no players would like to join this league but one thing is good for the players is that they can now play international cricket!

BCCI just wont let anyone come and play the game, especially when they have given the board so much troubles. They are smart folks, even smarter then we think. Every good deed that they do comes with a return favour. This is just a way of stamping away the ICL when they are in financial trouble. I think the ICC should have recognised the league, this way also ICC would benefit financially. I dont think the players will ever be selected to play first class cricket or international cricket. If they really wanted to help these players they should have recognised the league and told them that international commitments would come first just like the IPL. If they manage to get rid of the ICL, like you said they will have a virtual monopoly.
