We get mails from many people.THere are umpteen variations -friends,cousins,children,parents,close relatives, distant relatives, and of course the official ones too.I am sure most of you would give priority to official ones.Regarding the ones you get from others, how prompt are you? I am not terribly prompt but I try to be reasonable in special cases.I have seen people who are very prompt too.One of my friends here sends a notification immediately that he would soon be in touch and that I thought is a great idea[thanks to Deepak] So,please do share.

I am guilty of not doing the favor immediately. Sometimes it even takes ages. This is not good but some how I cannot manage a prompt reply. When it comes to official or urgent mails I do it immediately but tend to slog down a bit. Since you have mentioned the name of Deepak, I must say that he is one person on earth who would never delay or would never fall short of correspondence. Its instantaneous and I am so glad that he does his best to reach out as and when required. Thanks Deepak.

Not everytime that I get to response to my emails notification promptly. It depends on my mood for that day. As much as I wanted to response promptly but there are times my unthinking mind could hardly string words together. Maybe too consumed with other matters that at times I need to wait when my brain is tuned in.

I am really good about answering emails to my family. Sometimes I get a little slow about responding to friends or co-workers. I get so many emails, spam and myLot email notifications each day so once in awhile my friend's emails get buried and I may not see them for a couple of days. Eventually I will answer.

Kala! You have apparently mentioned my name in the discussion. I would like to say that first of all I check e-mails from my friends/relatives and immediately I send them a reply. If I have time, I send an elaborate reply, else I just acknolwedge it and send the reply later, when I am free. Sometimes it so happens that I do not get an opportunity to check the mail(s) on the same day, however, as soon as I check my mail box, I go for e-mails and read them and send a reply with the valid reasons for delay. Good Post!

Sorry I am late .It is definitely you[[and is there any other Deepak here?--moreover I ahev no friends called Deepak among other friends too apart from net friends and till you told me I have never even thought of that clever immediate response notification ..You are extremely prompt with your replies and that is very commendable.

Hi Kala! You are in time, you are not late in commenting by any standard. I should expect this much you time you would take to post your comments on my response. I am releived to know that it is me in your discussion, as no one with a similar name is in your list of friends, till now (though I once saw a member with log in name - Deepak). All I can say is - Many thanks for your kind words about me. I feel humbled and honoured.

Oh, I do so try to do this, but I often fail! This week has been so hectic with school ending and final exams starting. I logged onto my e-mail and noticed that I had an e-mail from my cousin and another from my mother in law that I needed to answer. My cousin had sent me pictures of her new baby. He is so precious!

Hi Kala, I am trying to give a prompt reply even if I am busy by sending a line. But sometimes I am not able to check my mails or net is down then I can’t do it. My drawback is most probably I am not taking the initiative to get in touch with people but if I receive any mails from anybody I am very glad to respond promptly. Once one of the member asked me the same questions why you can’t take imitative to contact the people, the answer is still unknown for me, may be I am that kind of a person.

That is alright Sree.We all have so many things to do, and we would always try and keep in touch as and when time permits. As long as you remember to reply some day, it is still ok.Only when it becomes a oneway street[sometimes I find that people never reply but would ask such questions--]we cannot accept it. I am sure you do not ask questions too.So, it really does not matter.
