i just manicure by the help of the professional manicurist once a month, just to form my nails in a right way. after that i just manicure by myself. i have a complete set of manicure so it's easy for me to do it. i just make sure that i dont over do it to avoid ingrown.

I have it done by professionals because I cannot cut my nails nicely. Aside from this, I grew up seeing my mom getting her nails done by trained manicurist. I make sure that I go to a Nail Spa or Nail Salon, thrice a month, at most. I am quite OC with my nails. If you happen to be here in my country, in the Philippines, I can reco really good Nail Salons with well-trained manicurists. I can guarantee you that you'll enjoy the experience and you'll see why I'm there almost every week.

This is a good discussion for me because I used to be a nail technician. I enjoyed doing nails, too. I prefer doing my own nails, myself. After you've been doing other people's nails all day, you're usually too tired to do your own. Your own nails can get to looking pretty rough after doing other peoples nails all day. Most people who do nails in a beauty salon don't file your nails correctly. That's why I prefer to do my own. In school, we were taught to file the nails from corner to center on both sides and then straight across. It takes time to file them this way. You're taught the basics in school but when you get out on the job, you have to pick up on your speed and you have to cut corners, if you know what I mean.
Kathy.
