when i was still a kid, i was used to visit the dentist with my grandmother. it's seems that the dentist was my usual friend of my teeth. after my grandmother died, visiting to the dentist had stopped too. my teeth were not as beautiful since then, the reason why some of it were extracted and replaced by a false teeth. now that i am not young anymore, i am now afraid of dentist. i know that it's good to visit them twice a year. but i hate it when going to.

i think i am not afraid of a dentist. Eversince i was a kid, i love going to the dentist because after having my teeth being pulled, they always offer me ice cream, that's why im lovin it to go there. But one of the reason already that i don't always visit it already is because of lack of money.

I am afraid of dentist. This probably to my experiences with dentist when I was young. We went to govt. clinic when I was young. Maybe due to the treatment cost are cheap, the dentists were rough and the nurses weren't nice at all. So all trips are painful, added with harsh treatments that we received. By the time my brother to visit the dentist, my mom choose private dentist. It pay more but I noticed they like to go there. I figure out the dentists are nice and friendly and it doesn't hurt like I felt. Somehow, I feel dissatisfied...

i think i'm not afraid of dentists because i'm not quite afraied of needles. you know after injecting the serum, you won't feel any pain and just close your eyes and soon it'll be finished. anyway, they give free lollipops! ahaha! kidding. happy earning!

conquer - your dental fear
most kids dreaded just the mere thought of the dentist but I'm the exception.dental phobia is not in me. i love to visit dentists since it's quite cheaper in our place. you just have to bring your own anesthesia and donate any amount from your heart. it's public service F.Y.I.

There are really dentist that we feel heavy handed when pulling our teeth. How will you not be afraid of new dentist epecially that one time pulled my teeth half of it was thrown away about one meter away? I really have to rise up from my seat because of the force she applied in pulling my teeth. I couldn't forget that experience. Good the equipments used now by dentist are hightech. Still am afraid of the dentist, though.

You must have very sensitive teeth. I have sensitive teeth, too, but not to the point that I have to rise up from my seat every time one is pulled. My gums are sensitive and I have soft teeth, too. My teeth are also sensitive to cold. I take care of my teeth the best I can. It doesn't help that I've always had such a sweet tooth and I like soft drinks, though. Kathy.

xannebull, why are you afraid of going to the dentist now? when you know you had absolutely no sense of fear back when you were still a kid? There is no reason to be afraid of the dentist since they are only extracting teeth and they are helping you in every possible way, well, related to dentistory anyways... HAppy-Mylotting

Ever since I started having braces 6 years ago I think.. I'm not afraid to go to the dentist anymore :) I think I'm the other way around.. xD When I was a kid, I'm afraid of the dentist. Whenever I hear the sound of the drills I would go wining at my dad and begs him to go home. But by the time I had my braces, of course the first 2 sessions I was really afraid. I think the only remedy for the fear of the dentist is... just face that fear :) eventually it will go away just like what happened to me . :D

You are not alone here. I am afraid of the dentist as well but for different reasons. When I was a child we made regular visits to the dentist. When I was 12 and my father passed away we moved to Michigan where we no longer went to the dentist. My mother did not have dental insurance on us. As I have gotten older I have dental insurance but have still not been to the dentist. I am now afraid of going in because it has been so long since I have had a check-up. I am deathly afraid, that even though my teeth are not in bad shape, the dentist will tell me he has to pull a bunch of my teeth. I am scared of needles, especially in them mouth, and this is very scary to me. At 30 years old I should not be scared by such silly things but to this day I still am.

Of course I am afraid of going to see the dentist. Usually it is because of the dental problems so it's not a good feeling. So today I try to pay attention to my dental health and hopefully I don't have to see the dentist so often:) I love China

i am really scared of dentist and going to dentist is even more scary. usually teeth problems are very painfull and untolerable and i had teeth problems frequently and i had to unwillingly visit the dentist and i am so scared of dentist as the procedure of curing is really bad but cant help it if we need to get rid of the pain we need to visit dentist.

I wouldn't say that I'm afraid of the dentist but I definitely don't like that infamous drill that they all seem to use! When that is taking place I just close my eyes and try to enter the land of nod! Still, it's something that has to be done and this is the view I take, i just have to get down there as I want to keep all my teeth, as many as I can! They do a very important job I guess. Andrew

I do not mind going to the dentist as I know it is for my own good, as well as for my teeth's good. Personally, dentists do not scare me at all. They are usually friendly and have great personalities.

I'm not afraid of the dentist - I just really do not like going to him (or any for that matter). My dentist in particular has an attitude and lectures me like I'm a 4-year-old every time I see him whether I have a cavity or not.
