Some of my friends had said to me in the past that they had fallen in love with particular girl or boy at the very first sight. Does a person really fall in love at first sight or it is just attraction or infatuation?

Well I would say falling in love at first sight would probably be affection. But its not in all cases. They are impressed with look usually for first sight love. I agree it may be attraction Thanusha

It is possible and many people can testify on this. Nevertheless there are people who say that the feelings some people went through on the first encounter cannot be said to be love. The word 'love' has many meanings, with different people having different opinions on it. Whatever, the crush is real, and does bring a reaction similar to someone in love. It is what we do next that determines what will happen next. all the best, rosdimy

I also think that it happened to lots of people and lots of people had fallen in love at first sight, although I think attraction happens at first sight.

Of course not, Mostly would be attraction but if it ends up in being mutual, they can both get away saying it was "love at first sight" Love is more complex than just liking what we see.

I also think attraction occurs first and love happens only long after that.

I believe it's more like physical attraction. It's impossible to fall in love with someone at first sight. It takes a while to get to know a person better to fall in love with that person. Physical attraction can be deceiving. A person can say oh yes, it's definitely love at first sight but think about it - I mean WHY? Cause at first sight you've already realized that the person is the nicest person you've ever met? What about the person's past? Love is accepting everything including the person's past, habit, attitude, etc... the list could go on and no one will ever get to know a person well within 24 hrs. I think love at first sight is more of a metaphor....like love is blind. Loving a person at first sight while love is blind? lol that would be interesting.

a very strong attraction to someone upon seeing them for the first time is indeed possible, but this is mostly just attraction. most of us, sadly, mistake these feelings for love, and therefore get our hearts broken for all the wrong reasons. however, there are still times when you see someone for the first time and you just know that you wanted to spend the rest of your life with that person. or that it doesn't matter whether that person loves you back or not. or even if you merely are comfortable and peaceful with that person. these are emotions that come with love: confidence, faith, peace. and there are magickal moments when they do happen--even at first sight.;)

I also think strong attractions happens at first and only looks matters most at first. Personality, love, care, etc can be understood only after many sights. I believe love happens after many sights.

I also think attraction occur at first sight and love occurs after many sights, but sometimes I have seen people falling in love at first sight and marrying the person they loved at first sight.

I think alot of it is attraction and infatuation at first site. There have been times when I felt like I fell in love at first site, but I look back and realize that it was attraction, infatuation and whatever else could be mixed. I think love takes a little time to develop.

well i dont believe in love at first sight since love love grows.love is like putting a seed in the ground where it stays and grows at different stages.when you feel something deep for someone you just meet its an attraction.remember that love is a natural feeling.we hear about falling in love in books and on tv.in the real world we grow to love people.remember when you meet someone first thing you feel will be an attraction.good luck!!!!!!

well its definately not love since we grow to love and not fall in love.love is like a seed planted.i dont think there is such a thing as love at first sight in the real world.maybe a strong attraction.most times when we fall for someone it just doesnt work out because the attraction wears out but love does not.when you love someone the love stays there even after you breakup or passed on.trust me take it slow to see which direction it goes.remember love is a natural thing and everything natural is a long process which we have to pay close attention to or else it blows up on us.when you meet someone you feel strongly about take a deep breath and prepare for the process.we read about love in books and see it in movies where people meet and instantly falls in love.that just dont happen in the real world.good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't really believe it, I guess it's just attraction. I'll be very skeptical if someone says to me that he loved me at first sight. I really think that loving a person involves getting to know him/her...flaws and all. It;s the attraction that compels us to get to know the other person and then the feeling blossoming into love.
