What gift are you going to get for your Mom on Mother's Day?

I'm having a hard time thinking of what gift should I get my Mom-in-law. She's in her mid-70s and each year it's getting harder and harder to think of what to give her. Me and my husband got her a set of lotion from Bath and Body works last x'mas, and a set of sweater and pants last year's Mother's day... we don't want to get her the same thing each time. I know exactly what to get if it was for my Mom cause my mom was easy. Now I just light a candle for her each year. What about you? What do you plan to get your Mom or your Mom-in-law for Mother's day? I'd like to get some ideas too. Thanks.

It's kind of hard to pick out what to get for my mom, especially since she's very insistent on not getting anything, or well just being a mother. For my mother in law, my fiance and I will most likely just get her a card. We would like to get both of our parents something more, but most likely it will be a card for both of them, maybe a flower or flowers.

Flowers will be nice. If my 2 young daughters give me flowers for mother's day i hope they'll give me purple tulips. I saw a bouquet or two of them at the market. They were lovely. I like purple too...but whatever my daughters give me I will appreciate. It's the thoughts that counts. I think my husband and I are going to give my MIL a gift certificate to a foot spa or something. I'm still not sure but definitely a gift certificate.

does she need anything? for my mom, we are going to have her over for dinner (my hubby is a fabulous cook!) and we will buy her some plants for her garden. what about a food basket? what are some of her favourite foods?

That would be nice but my mom-in-law is overweight so both me and my husband don't want to give her any basket of foods. She could hardly keep up with her diet and it's not good for her. We've given her perfume and purses before and she hardly use them. I'm thinking maybe we should get her a gift certificate to a nail spa or hair salon? But we have to find out where she regularly goes to. Thank you for your suggestion. You're so lucky with your husband. I wish my husband could cook.
